Thrybergh Country Park lies approximately 3 miles to the North West of Rotherham Town Centre and about 9 miles to the West of Doncaster, in South Yorkshire and is one of the largest Country Parks in the region.
At the centre of this Park lies a Reservoir, created in 1880 to supply Water to Doncaster and the surrounding area. However throughout its history this Reservoir never met the demands that were put on it, largely due to leakage from the reservoir floor. During the 1940's this Reservoir was producing 490,000 gallons of Water a day, but losing 100,000 gallons of this every day. By the 1960's it was only producing 350,000 gallons a day, but still losing 100,000 gallons every day, so it no longer became commercially viable.

South Lakes Wild Animal Park is about 10 minutes away from us, so we visit at least twice a year, and we are never bored.
The park is fairly unique in that many of the animals are free roaming, or are allowed to roam within their own areas in amongst the visitors. The free roaming animals are found in the Australasia section of the park, with lemurs, kangaroos, emus etc, Food can be purchased at 50p a bag to feed the emus and the ducks. The lemurs are the only animals in that section that cannot be fed or stroked by visitors.
Also in that section there is a large walk in aviary, with parrot and vultures, visitors can watch the vultures being fed daily.

SouthPark is a cutting edge, satirical and animated American comedy created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker. It is often criticised for being too radical and has attracted sharp condemnation from Christians, Scientologists, and Jews; in fact, no-one is safe from the jaws of SouthPark. The stories and adventures inn the episodes are undertook by four children, Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman along with the other residents of the red-neck town. Stan and Kyle are the normal ones of the group often providing the moral to the story. Kenny offers less as we never understand what he says as his voice is muffled under his orange parka and generally dies in every episode. Cartman is the real comedy character, the lovable psychotic, racist, anti-semetic, hippie hating ?fat ass? provides the vehicle for the show.
