Introduction

SN Brussels Airlines (SNBA) is the phoenix that rose from the ashes of Sabena in 2002, the former Belgium flag carrier which went bankrupt in 2001. Originally set up as SN Airholding in 2002 the airline merged with DAT in 2002 and became SN Brussels. In 2005 SN acquired Virgin Express which had operated out of Brussels and had a code share arrangement with the failed Sabena. On 7 November the airline assumed its current ...
.../> Classes

SN Brussels Airlines operate two classes on the London Gatwick to Brussels route. The concept is quite simple in this day and age of multiple class codes. 'Light' is the cheaper cabin in which passengers hold fixed economy tickets and pay for any food and drink. Up front is the so called B. flex economy cabin where, as the name suggests tickets are flexible. Other benefits are free food and beverage service and lounge access ... more

Quick review of SN Brussels Airlines

This airline has been renamed to "Brussels Airlines" after the merger with Virgin. I was very happy with the service of SNBA. They had good tarrifs and good service. Too bad they only have one main hub in Brussels. They also have a loyalty program (called privilege) where you can get miles for British Airways and American Airlines flights. ...

From A to B then to A again

Advantages: Beautiful, Cheap
Disadvantages: Some places very touristy

I travel from Liverpool, via Birmingham, before continuing my coach journey down to Dover, where I catch the early morning ferry to Calais. From Calais I continue on my journey down through France, before reaching my destination, Belgium. I use the quaint town of Bruges as a base, whilst I take in the sights, tastes, sounds and culture of Bruges, Brussels and Antwerp. ***Getting To Belgium*** Belgium is a very popular place to visit but there are not many package holidays available to the country. I travelled with Banks Sadler European Study Tours, as part of a group and £185 got me free coach travel; free ferry tickets, three nights in a nice hotel, free breakfasts and free day excursions. SN Brussels Airlines, Ryanair, and British Airways also offer daily services from most major UK airports to Brussels Charleroi Airport ...

Review of General: Belgium

Birmingham International Airport - 2008

Advantages: Big enough to get the destinations, small enough to care
Disadvantages: Complex road system to get there

using T2 currently include KLM, Air France, Swiss, SN Brussels, and Flybe/BA (which I believe will be moving to T1 soon) Terminal one is the 'big' one - although it's really only mid-sized when compared with the London airports. It serves the long-haul destinations as well as airlines like bmibaby, Lufthansa and any charter flights. It's busier and the security checks can take a bit longer but in recompense for that, the shops are better. Parking ****** Don't you hate it when your transfer from the car park to the terminal takes longer than your flight? All the parking on-site at Birmingham airport is close to the terminals. There are two long-stay car parks, a small one and a big one and sadly (since it's my favourite - told you, favourite car parks, favourite airports.....) the little one is closed during the winter months. I wrote ...

Review of Birmingham (BHX)

A review of the Club Europe product

Advantages: Superb bargans if booking fixed dates for travel
Disadvantages: A lack of consistency in the overall product

a twice daily code share with SN Brussels but this is in effect a low cost airline for economy and offers an inferior service to the British Airways flights out of Heathrow in Business (also there is the issue of timings which are not great for business travellers and price which I will come on to). Anyway, I therefore have to travel from heathrow in most cases and that is never a hugely enjoyable experience, role on the opening of Terminal 5 I say. Check in In both airports the check in arrangements are generic - by this I mean wherever you are going there is a common check in desk for the product you are flying with as opposed to the destination. It is therefore rare to find a Club Europe check in without a queue though the queue is rarely too long; at least not compared to economy, which is often carnage. Terminal 1 has a dedicated ...
