Car (Alfa Romeo 166) had a high milage and had a lot of small problems. The company non responsive (no problem -continue driving). Finally, after a week the engine started sounding bad. Check of oil level revealed that there was almost no oil - it took 4 liters. Temperature gauge and on-board computer didn't indicate anything. Response of the company: continue driving! Got home - very slowly. Now the company blames me for engine breakdown and withholds deposit. Turns out they charged the whole amount up front, 2 days before the rental started!
Don't try to save money with SPEED. Very unprofessional.
I rented the car through a travel agency's web site. The agency itself was very professional to deal with, both through email and later telephone. They clearly didn't verify the rental companies they worked with.

I am amazed that any rental company would even consider using Alfa Romeos - as a brand they are so unreliable that they spend more time in the garage than on the road.
