A Sophisticated Stay in Cardiff

Advantages: Sophisticated, swimming pool, comfortable
Disadvantages: Expensive

. The website lists it as being in central Cardiff, but I would argue that it?s a little further out than that. Granted it took us about 10 minutes to reach the shopping centres, but this is over quite a few busy main roads and those who aren?t so agile may prefer the location of the Hilton. For us though the location was perfect. The whole area in which the hotel is situated has recently been regenerated. All the shops, roads and houses are brand new ? it doesn?t look like anything was built before at least 2000. The only exceptions to this are the regenerated old buildings. Half of the Novotel building was originally an old building for another purpose and it had been done up really tastefully with a glass divide between the new building and the old one. Again, if you don?t mind walking, the hotel is a short walk away from the bay which ...

Cardiff International Arena

Advantages: great location
Disadvantages: expensive inside

Well i first went to the CIA in Cardiff when i was around 14 years old so a few years ago now. i went to see boyzone there and rememebr thinking omg this place is huge and i was really spun out by it all, it was my first concert and i was just amazed by the atmosphere there. So it wasnt until returning some years later to see westlife twice and blue that my opinion changed! Firstly the CIA is smack bang in the middle of cardiff and is very very easy to get to, it is a short walk from the central train station and is situated around the corner from a NCP car park which is handy but is expensive and you can be queing up for ages to pay for you ticket and then you have to get out of the car park but hey thats another story.(Car parking fees are costly in cardiff generally)! The CIA is home to many events such as concerts ...

Llandaff Cathedral, Llandaff, Cardiff

Advantages: A magnificent building full of history
Disadvantages: Steep hill

The Eucharist is celebrated daily The Cathedral does have a small shop, but refreshments are only available by prior arrangement, as are guided tours. (Contact: office@llandaffcathedral.org.uk). However, there is a small café in Llandaff village itself, only a few minutes walk from the Cathedral. Car Parking in the area of the Cathedral Green is free and although unrestricted, is obviously busy during services, weddings and the like. There is also a free car park in Llandaff Village about a one minute walk away. There are frequent bus services to Llandaff, (route 25, 33, 33A & 62 from Cardiff Central Railway/Bus Station) which is only about 3 miles away. I have visited the Cathedral many times over the years, sung there in choirs and rang the (old) bells, and always there is something new to find - this is a very large, magnificent ...
