Advantages: Beautiful place Disadvantages: expensive
My dad?s friend and his wife work in the South of France and they live in SaintPaul de Vence. I?ve been fortunate enough to visit them with my parents 4 times in the last couple of years. The first time we went to the village, we were staying in a hotel in Nice and only went to St Paul for the afternoon/evening. The following three times, I we stayed in their house in the village for a few days. Having now visited on more than one occasion, I think I have a good feel for this lovely little place.
Every year this village sees millions of tourists pass through it?s cobbled streets every year and as it?s such a beautiful place I can see why?
Where is it?

Lyons Battenberg Cake
This has been on special offer recently in Tesco's and since the offer has been on I have been able to eat single handed 4 whole cakes. The offer being buy one get one free and for a price of £1.29 pence, which gets you the two cakes, I think it is well worth it.

The Battenberg Cake is made up of a super soft sponge centre that is in two different colours and four separate squares of colour giving the cake a chequered look. The two colours are a gorgeous pink and a light yellow shade. The whole sponge centre is wrapped around the outside with a good thick layer of marzipan ...
Advantages: Wonderful city Disadvantages: Pollution
Commercial' offers numerous places to eat (of particular recommendation are the Tex Mex called 'Salsa Verde' and an Italian called 'Le Bistro Roman'). Although I never personally went there myself, I have been told that Vieux Lyon is home to some lovely small restaurants that are cheap and offer fantastic food. In terms of lunches, you can go to Carrefour (there is one in the 'Centre Commercial') or any other supermarket and get some lovely French bread and make your own. Alternatively (and my favourite choice), there are numerous bakers around, the best and most common of which is called 'Paul'. Here you can get a baguette with ham and cheese for about ?2,40. This is well worth a visit as Paul makes the nicest sandwiches around!
When to go
I went in early summer time (end of June) and the sun was cracking the flags each day. France ...
