This was one of the excursions we booked thru Caroletayfun while in Turkey.

Online price was £15 per person, included transfers from Hotel, and Lunch at the Trout Farm.

First on the visit was Saklikent Gorge. (the order of the visit may change due to local conditions.)
The entry to the Gorge is fairly modest, there is a charge of 2.5 TL (Approx £1).
To start with there is a raised walkway approx to 150 meters into the gorge. If conditions are OK then you can have a guide who will walk you up the gorge in the water for approx another kilometer.
The day we visited followed a day of rain so water levels were to high, and the flow of the water very fast, so noone was allowed into the water.
It was still very beautiful to see the water running and the high walls of the gorge climbing to the sky.

Just outside the entrance to the gorge are a few Cafes that line the river with seating that seems to disappear into the water, prices resonable.
There are also some craft stalls some a bit tacky but others with local hand made products.

Before you are taken into the Gorge there is a short talk, which is aimed at those who would prefer to float down the river for about 3 km on inflated tyres with photo included.

After the Gorge you proceed on the bus into the hills to the trout Farm at the village of Yaka (yakapark) this was formerly a watermill and the Garden have a water theme. Very cool on a hot day. There is a small bar with water feature with small trout swimming about.
There are some large tanks where various sizes of Trout are stored.
The lunch is an open Buffet style with plenty to go with your Trout (Chicken available for non fish lovers. Great view across the valley.

Close to the yakapark is the actient settlement of Tlos one of the acient LYCIAN Cities. In Hittite records of the fourteenth century BC it was referred to as "Dalawa in the Lukka Lands."
A discovery on the site of a bronze hatchet dating from the second millennium BC confirms the long heritage of tthe place.
The setting is impressive a high rocky promontory that affords excellent views of the Xanthos valley.
On top of the acropolis hill is a Turkish Fortress from the Ottoman period.
There are some Rock Tombs.

Just across the road from the site entrance are two cafes run by local people. Very reasonable and refreshing.
One family has a small stall with home made items .

A very full day with plenty for History and nature lovers to enjoy.
