In August of this year my husband and our 2 kids, my son aged 14 and my daughter aged 9 went to Salou for our summer holidays. Salou is very big and noisy with plenty to do, not for someone looking for a quiet holiday. We had a wonderful holiday but the definite hightlight was PortAventura Theme Park. ...to do it and there are always special deals on the tickets here. We managed to get 4 7 day tickets for the price of 3. We were so glad we did this as the tickets were so much dearer over there and you also had to queue to buy the tickets whereas we were able to straight into the park without queueing. The theme park itself is only a 10 minutes bus ride from the centre of Salou and the buses are very regular and cheap, although I think it is a competition ... Read review

Aquapolis - where is it Aquapolis is on the outskirts of a town called La Pineda and Spain's Costa Dorada and is a short bus ride away from the main town centre of Salou. During this years holiday we decided that as Spain was in the middle of a heat wave and the temp was in the region of 38 degrees C which is about 12 degrees above average for the Costa Dorada that we would not visit Port Aventura as planned but go to the water park instead as seem ...
...Arriving at Aquapolis - the local busses stop next to the park and a short walk though local market stalls and small shops which form part of the front of the park you arrive at the entrance. The entrance is in the middle of the market stalls but is easy to spot. We arrived at about 11am and where surprised that there we no big queues to get in and where soon in the park itself. ...was no different. The Caribe Aquatic Park is a water park that was built on to the famous PortAventura theme park and hotel complex. PortAventura is of a similar layout to our Alton Towers but in my opinion nowhere near as good. ...the Caribe. ~ Costa Caribe Shop~ Here they sell over priced, suntan lotions, cameras, quicksilver clothing and they also offer photo processing. ~Laguna de Woody souvenirs~ Here they sell souvenirs, suntan lotion and flotation aids. Nothing really exciting. As well as the outdoor slides and attractions there is an indoor area which you can pay for solely and just spend your day in there but please do not waste your money. Disadvantages: mad & expensive taxi drivers!!

...taxi from the airport into salou was about £100 (160 euro) bearing in mind its going to cost the same amount back, i would advise that if you have a license then to hire a car, unfortunatly we dont drive so didnt have this option. it took about and hour to get to the parc - i will warn you that the taxi drivers on the rank at barcelona airport drive like lunatics!! i was genuinely scared for the safety of myself, partner and children!! not only that ...
...want to leave the parc, salou beach is about 10 minutes walk - but you have to cross a cargo train track! this scared me a bit with having young children but it was fine once i got ust to it!! theres a universal studios nearby, we never went to it but i think it was 20 minutes away for the park. lots of shops - tobaccinsts, macdonalds, clothes shops, lots to see on the way there! the beach is beautiful!! lovley golden sandy beach! the sea was out ... Advantages: the most spectacular resort in the world

Imagine being at a world class theme park with the latest rides and most amazing restaurants, and brilliant scenery to boost.
