It is the first time I have been to Salou and I enjoyed myself, we came here for our honeymoon, as we always get bored on holiday we wanted to go somewhere with something to do, and as Salou has the big adventure park Portaventura we thought it would be perfect. It is cheaper to buy your tickets in spain as it is much cheaper than the travel agents, as far as I can remember the tickets over here are £30 and in Spain it is about £17 for a two day pass. I would advise to get a one day ticket as when you go to the park you can pay £8 extra as you leave for another day there, I wish we had done that as we didi not really like it, it is more for people with children. The hotel we stayed in was lovely and there was plenty to do. The only thing I did not like was the price of drinks and the fact that the nightclubs were empty till about 1 in the morning, although there are some good bars out there. This holiday cost us over £1000 and the weather was really hot, we went the end of July and it was not to packed with kids as you would expectAlso there is a big huge market up the roads you cannot miss them and they sell a wide range of things, and there are black women there that braid your hair either a full hair of braids with extension or one or two plaits, which costs about £50

Advantages: Lots of attractions, Port Aventura, nice beaches, lots of hotels, restaurants, 1hr from Barcelona, a bit more unusual that the usual Spanish holiday resort Disadvantages: Can get very got in peak season, monsoons occasionally (we had the misfortune to have one whilst we stayed and it was the most rain I have witnessed in my LIFE!)
