We arrived at Sun'n'Sand Hotel and wondered what we were letting our selves in for, there were no proper roads just a dusty bumpy drive down to the hotel, past
children all dressed in school uniform but no shoes.
On one side of the road was a little hut with a double bed in it where all the occupants slept. The Kenyans can speak about seven lanuages, they would put us to shame. And the manners of the chilldren is immpecable. They have to collect water in a bucket on their heads and have to walk about a mile to get it.
They never complain, but we had been told to take writing books and pencils for the children.

When we got to the gates we were taken aback by two guards with what we thought were guns, wrong, just sticks.Inside the gates it was like another world
there were tall palm trees and at the side of the pool there were bird of paradise flowers, and no grass
just a calomille lawn which the gardeners got down on their knees to clip.

There was a masseuse and a shop and then we discovered it belonged to the Aga Khan who had given it to a native kenyan and helped him to develop it.
The floor was marble and there was a gigantic chess set, with two black statues on either side, this led down to one of the pools and the dining room. Every night the Kenyon waiters came out carrying trays and
chanting,it was wonderful,

Then came the day when we were going on safari, it was to take us to the Masa Mara reserve and that was exciting as I met the chief and he let us see his home
he had bike and a spear propped up against the wall, when I asked him what the spear was for, he said he had to kill a lion to get a wife, he had two and both of them were pregnant. The wives slept in a different hut to him.

We drove on an came to Salt Lick Hilton Hotel, it was outstanding, there were flowers and rocks and there was a Geeco, very large running over the rocks.
When we entered the first people we met were friends that we had made at Sun'nSand. I keep up with her till this day, she is even going to try Ciao.

The dining room was outstanding, there was an oval table with every thing on it from melon, kiwi fruit and others.there was food of all kind behind the counter and covered, very hygienic,I could have spent
more time there.

In the centre was a large paper Swan which seemed to be the way out there, as Sun'n Sand had much the same.

As for animals,I think we saw the lot,Lions,Cheetah
Ostrich and her babies, Hippopotomus and Elephant, and Vulture's which I'm glad to say were far enough away,There were also the Wilderbeast, and wild Boar.
