Hotel Plainbrucke
Review of Hotel Plainbrucke, Salzburg by
Jamie73
Advantages: close to City centre, close ot bus routes, resonably priced
Disadvantages: parking would have been a problem if driving to the hotel
...we stayed at a lovely hotel called Hotel Plainbrucke.
I really think it merits a review to share this hotel with you and what I thought of it!
The Hotel is situated in the Itzling West area of Plainbrucke which is a small district of Salzburg. We landed at the Airport and from there we decided to take a taxi trip to the hotel which took us approx 10 -15 mins I guess.
This cost us 15 euros which isn't too bad, but later on we found out the bus ... ...the second building of the hotel (more about that later!). I would like to point out that we had to carry the cases to the room ourselves as there wasn't a porter available but maybe there would have been if we asked.
On first impressions, the room was clean, tidy, smelt nice and seemed very homely. As we walked into the room, straight ahead of us was the bathroom which consisted of a walk in shower, basin and a toilet as standard. Above the basin, ...

The most idyllic setting!!!
Review of Dollinger Hotel, Salzburg by
sharkel
Advantages: Cosy, welcoming, great staff
Disadvantages: Food
The Dollinger is a family run traditional Austrian Inn. Located close to the town centre on Hallerstrasse, at the foot of one of the surrounding ranges, the Nordkette, the hotel is ideally located for your time in Innsbruck.
The hotel is set against a breathtaking mountain forest background and looks inviting from the outside. The quaint looking and flower covered exterior adding to the charm.
Inside, the reception was pleasant and comfortable, ... ...minute bus journey to the Dollinger from the train station - you can take buses on line 4, A, E, C. The hotel is a fifteen minute journey from Innsbruck airport. The fact that the hotel is outwith the centre did not bother us in the least, it was worth it to be at the foot of the mountain with such an amazing view. There are no restaurants or bars located near the hotel, for this you would have to go into the centre; again the above buses will deliver ...

Hotel Not So Plain - brucke!
Review of Hotel Plainbrucke, Salzburg by
daylehall
Advantages: Lovely rooms, excellent staff, town is easily accessible on tram route
Disadvantages: No tea and coffee making facilities, no English channels
...for Jamie and booked the hotel through www.tripadvisor.com which I found through the Google website, when I typed in the search option of Hotels in Salzburg.
The reason I booked Hotel Plainbrucke is that it looked nice from the pictures, the location seemed pretty central and the cost was affordable.
Location
Hotel Plainbrucke is located a 15 minute taxi journey from Salzburg Airport. We paid for a taxi when we arrived and it cost £15 euros. On ... ...journey was free. The hotel is located about a 7 minute tram journey from town (bearing in mind there are lots of stops on the way). The hotel is the only hotel in the area of Itzling West (Plainbrucke) and is situated between a large café/bar that has a bakery attached and also serves a variety of foods. On the other side of the hotel, is an Italian restaurant. About a three minute walk from the hotel, was a large Spar shop where you were able to ...

We stayed here in Feb 2006
Review of NH, Salzburg by
danrooke1978
Advantages: walking distance to old town
Disadvantages: none!
A very nice, clean hotel within walking distance of all the tourist attractions in the old town. There is a restaurant, although we didn't try it due to being so close to many other places to eat. The rooms are pleasant, staff are friendly, helpful and speak very good English. They even have two computers that guests can use for free to go onto the internet.
The hotel is located within 30m of the main pedestrianised area of the town which leads ...
