wildlife parks of Kenya

Advantages: beautiful scenes, waterfalls, black rhino
Disadvantages: a little difficult to get to

Aberdare National Park was made in 1950 to protect the forests of the Aberdare Mountains. It is a remote park, as it's hardly ever visited by travellers or safari companies. You must book in advance as you cannot take your own vehicles. The Park is located in the Central Highlands, west of Mount Kenya. You're able to see beautiful landscapes from high mountain peaks to valleys shaped like a V and bamboo forests. Accommodation There are 2 main types of accommodation. *Treetops* Treetops, tree house lodge, are one of Kenya's most famous hotels. This was where Princess Elizabeth was told that she had become Queen. So, as you can probably imagine, the prices at the hotel are quite expensive. *The Arks* The second hotel is The Arks, which is more reasonably priced. These are built in the shape of Noah's Ark. Also ...

Review of Aberdare National Park (Kenya)

Tsavo East National Park ( Kenya )

Advantages: My husband and I went on a tour of Kenya. It was based at Sun 'n 'Sand which was equisite, with palm trees and monkeys screaming through the trees.
Disadvantages: The only disadvantage was the bumpy roads.

My husband and I went twice to Kenya, the first time the safari's were only for two nights, but the scenery was spectacular, it was barren and you could see lions hippopotomus, giraffes and elephants, there were ostrich and she must have been a mother as there were little ones running beside her. there was wild boar with frightening horns, there were teripins mounds all in red sandy clay. We had travelled with Kuoni as my poor hubby was made redundant. So it was his idea to travel afar the journey on the plane it's self was a dream. when we arrived at the airport in Mombasa we were taken to our base hotel. That was the start of the bumpy roads, but it was worth it when we arrived the complex was marble flooring and there were five pools, you could sit at your balcony and watch the Indian oceon very close by, the sand was soft ...

Review of Tsavo East National Park (Kenya)

Mount Kenya, The Crazy British way

Advantages: Great views, lifetime experience
Disadvantages: Too high.

Going up the hill... If you want to get a train to the top, and buy a badge to say you did it at the peak visitor centre, youre in the wrong place. Up and down in 3 days, as we did it, is a seriously bad idea, with altitude sickness and so on, the only possible way to climb is to take 6 steps forward and two back - there is no ammount of training that can prepare a couch potato to do this, you must be fit in body and mind, and then make your peace with whoever before you go get to the top. On route to the summit of Mount Kenya there are a few lodges, one, about half way up has its own porter who will share his food at a price. The billets are basic, sometimes with a dirty matteress, but expect to pay a renal price for this. The toilet facilities are usually a stinking \"long drop\" (hole in the floor) or simply using ...
