We Went to Sea World In April and it did not seem to be open for very long 10am to 6pm.

However once in side the theme park and a quick look at the map I realised that everything could be accomplished in that time.

However the only down side to the Sea World experience was the Southern California value pass. We were under the impression that if you bought this pass you got a free behind the scenes tour. Yes that was true if u visited the park Monday to Friday. The free tour was not available at weekends. As the passes were not dispatched to us a week before we departed it was not possible to change our itinerary, so if you do use the passes go to Sea World during the week.

Sea World is about a 15 dollar taxi ride each way from the train station at San Diego. You can get a bus but the information machine at the train station was broken and there was no one around to ask.

I would probably take one of the excursions and see it that way especially if you are in Los Angeles. If you are not interested in the backstage tour go for the excursion it will be cheaper.

I did try the tourist office in San Diego but that was closed too. We went on a Sunday which was perhaps not the best time to visit.

The park itself is very open so wear plenty of sunscreen otherwise you will burn. There is a bakery on site and is very reasonably priced. The beer school is fun and their is an educational side to it too. Look out for shipwreck rapids where passers by will shoot at you with water cannon. You will be totally drenched.

The sky gondolas are great fun overlooking the park but dont move around in them the only down side was having to pay.

The only thing i didnt like was the tower. You had to pay for that. It also seemed to be a great place to recruit passengers for southwest airlines.

I dont believe in paying for attractions once you go thru the gate.

I loved the mixture between education and fun and I think that worked. The shows were spaced out to give everyone a chance to see them all.

I recommend sea world but it is a lot easier to get there if u have a car.
