San Francisco is located on the West coast of the USA so it is quite far away. If you are planning to visit Hawaii it would make a great stop over to split the travel up and to help you catch up with your jet lag.
San Francisco must be one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is vibrant and of course has lots of great sites to see. I am sure it is easy to fall in love with such as city.
It is a favorite with Chinese with a large Chinese community, hence the name Golden Gate Bridge. The rolling hills offer breath taking views as well as great fun. Don't forget to jump on a tram when you are there, miss it and you will truely regret it.
The problem is that it is about 10 hours back in time, jet lag can be a problem. Hotels are not cheap nor are flights. Always a good place to visit when you are in California.
