Gray Line San Francisco Sightseeing
This Gray Line San Francisco sightseeing tour lasts approximately three and half-hours. It will take you around different sights and areas of interest in San Francisco. They depart daily at 9.15am, 11.15am and 2.15pm.
It costs in American dollars $44 (adult), $22 (child) and $42 (seniors over 60). To give you an idea of the current exchange rate 1 United States Dollar is equal to approximately 0.61 British pounds.
We booked out tour in out hotel, which included a transfer bus to our tour. The tour started in Fisherman's Wharf, which we drove through seeing the unique little restaurants, which was buzzing with people. Then we drove through Chinatown and the financial district.
A short stop at Mission Dolores was next where we stopped for food. It was a Catholic mission church, which you could walk around if you paid a small donation. There was this cute little restaurant near where I got a very yummy croissant and tea.
Back into the bus and onto the Castro Area which was the gay area of the town, again we only drove past here and did not stop.
We made our way up the mountains to see the twin peaks. You had the opportunity to get out of the bus to see the most beautiful view of San Francisco, you could see for miles. This was a lovely photo stop. This probably was the best part of the day for me.
We then drove out to Golden Gate Park. You could have gone into a Japanese tea garden if you paid $4 in and then $4 for tea and a biscuit. We decided not to and instead went for a walk around the gardens as we had about half and hour to spare.
The Golden Gate Park had beautiful botanical gardens with lots of little squirrels running about. All were grey squirrels, which my husband hates but I thought they were very cute to watch. They would come right up to the people to try and get food. I even seen one climbing up a girls leg, as I was slightly afraid of them I stayed well enough back so this did not happen to me.
Back onto the bus and we drove then over the famous Golden Gate Bridge where we stopped for another photo stop. I have to admit the bridge wasn't as big as I thought it would be in real life. It was another nice view to be seen though.
Overall this tour was good but it suited more people who were older as you were on the bus for most of the tour. I felt that I didn't really get enough time to explore the area.
It was good though if you wanted to see as much as possible in a very short space of time. Granted you would be seeing most of the place from the bus.
It was also good for you to get your bearings of the surrounding area. I did feel that the tour was slightly expensive however I am glad that I did the tour as I got an idea of what San Francisco was like.
