This is a review on Sandakan and Mataking Island in Sabah (East Malaysia). East and West Malaysia is separated by the South China Sea and besides flying, there is no other mode of transport. Sandakan was the capital of Sabah until 1946. It was occupied by the British who left behind their culture and the buildings. My trip to Sandakan and Mataking Island was a short one.
