The staff were very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our stay. We stayed in the ocean front room which was very spacious but the bathroom does need updating. Our airconditioning also ... ...holiday. The hotel is set directly on the beach but there is a reef close to shore so it is quite rocky. The hotel has non-motorised watersports and a trip on a glass bottom boat to see the Turtles was included. The location is very peaceful but it is quite a distance away from the nightlife of St Laurence's gap and unless you hire a Mini Moke (car) then you are confined to the hotel for the evening and entertainment is limited. ... more

Barbados is a great place to go and well worth the extra money it costs to get there. We went to Barbados in 2005 and stayed in the SandridgeBeachhotel on the west coast near Speightstown. We will be returning to the island this year but will be staying on the south coast instead as we felt quite isolated on our last visit. The hotels are a bit run-down but the food is excellent and the people are very friendly. I would advise travellers to do some research before you go see www.barbados.org as there are lots of places to see. If you hire a mini moke then it is quite safe to travel around the island yourself to see the sights and discover some of the unspoilt beaches away from the hotels. Don't miss the Oistins fish fry on a Friday night where they cook fresh fish and have a street party afterwards. The buses are cheap and going ...
