Advantages: friendly people, rooms, pools, public areas very well looked after, different themes everyday
Disadvantages: food variation... but what was out was tasty!

. Unfortunately as stunning as the beach was, it was filled with beach sellers everyday so no sunbeds or relaxing down there! The complex also had a group of monkeys running around which were so funny and were great fun to watch... just make sure you close your balcony door when you go out!!! Animation were very good, all different activites throughout the day although did leave you alone if you wernt interested. However if you take part you will get colored beads that you can swap in the gift shop, which is probably one of the cheapest hotels gift shops i have stayed in! Evening entertainment was not too great, even the caribbean do it better, they do try, but we gave up by the 3nd night and chilled out in the bar. Sun, sea, sand oh & the sex on the beach

Advantages: Very clean, excellent service & lovely weather
Disadvantages: Attracts a lot of kids, not excellent evening entertainment

Last September I was planning mine and my boyfriends first holiday and we wanted it to be good as it was our first holiday away together and we had a whole year to pay for it so we didn't mind what we spent. After browsing the net for a good couple of hours and a lot of good reports from friends and relatives we decided on the Dominican Republic. I had a look at all the usual websites you check to get the most competitive price and I decided on booking with Portland direct who are a direct sell agent (that are part of the big Tui group including Thomson etc) After having a look through all the hotels and prices I finally settled for the 4* Gran Ventana beach resort in Playa Dorada (if you wondered why I keep using the term I it is because my boyfriend doesn't have any part in anything like this as it is my job and he is just lazy ...

Lily Beach Island Resort Maldives

Advantages: Medium Size, Pool, Good Staff, Trips, Beach
Disadvantages: Sea Wall, Rough Sand, Green/Green Decor

on the sand bank but you have to pay for these. There is a board in the main reception you put your name down on and just turn up. There maybe more on offer now as the Front of house manager was asking how could he improve the trips and evening entertainment as take up was not that good -Diving There is a very good dive centre on Lily Beach run by Ocean Pro who have loads of sites around the maldives Veligandu, velavaru, Merrufenfushi, Helengeli, Coco Palm and Lily Beach Although I didnt dive as I only passed my Padi OW and AOW in the june 2005. There were a team of divers from S.W.A.T out there possibly looking at the aftermath of the Tsunami. As always in the maldives, Nitrox is in at this resort. I can not comment on the dive sites as I did not dive but from reading book the South Ari Atoll is one of the best -Watersports There is ...
