We stayed 3 nights on half board - the location is lovely and the hotel seemed very nice on arrival. Our first disappointment came with the evening meal - the food is mass produced and left a lot to be desired - the beef from the carvery was a bit tough and the vegtables were just so over cooked (probably due to standing on the hotplate for so long). The smorgasboard on the saturday night was th best foor of our stay.
On ... ...a rather strong drain smell. It was alo there the following morning. We reported it to reception and they did send someone to come and have a look, but he coudn't solve the problem. It was obviously an ongoing problem from what we were told by the cleaning staff - Room 38 - avoid it. Certainly the management didn't ask if we were happy after reporting the problem. On returning to our room on our first night we found a rather strong drain smell. It was alo there the following morning. We reported it to reception and they did send someone to come and have a look, but he coudn't solve the problem. It was obviously an ongoing problem from what we were told by the cleaning staff - Room 38 - avoid it. Certainly the management didn't ask if we were happy after reporting the problem. In fact another area of disappointment was the restuarant staff - they seemd to be much more interested in clearing up tables and laying up for the next meal rather than attending to the needs of the patrons.
My final disappointment was asking for a smoked kipper for my last breakfast - again like everything else - it was overcooked!
It was a shame really - a hotel that had a lot of promise was very let down by lack of attention to detail and customer service.
