stunning views, terrace and swimming pool, it is a truly idyllic residence. Set amongst the rolling hills of Tuscany between Florence and Sienna you have your choice of an array of gastronomic, cultural, historic and artistic pursuits. The hotel offers 41 rooms and suites, spacious lobby and lounge areas, a fabulous cocktail bar, delightful breakfast room and Mediterranean garden terrace. Rooms are elegant and airy, complete with air-conditioning, satellite TV, in-room music, direct dial telephone, mini-bar and hair dryer. Peppered with interesting touches and thoughtful details, rooms also contain unique features such as pure wool carpeting, fluffy, cotton bath towels, brier wood and natural oak furnishings.
...It was when I was expecting my first son that I stayed at the Des Bains in Venice. This hotel was where they filmed "Death in Venice" with Dirk Bogarde (who my sons nicknamed Dick Bogey when I used to read his autobiographies). It is a really sumptuous place with matching beach towels and seats in lemon and white stripes. Huge rooms with high ceilings and an air of luxurious silence.
Goodness knows where anyone could find the money to stay there nowadays but even then a man was complaining because he wanted yoghurt for his son for breakfast and they wanted to charge him extra.
Of course wherever you want to stay in Venice you can easily visit the popular places by waterbus. This is a novel way to travel and beats cars and roads anyday in my opinion.
A very interesting book about Venice is Miss Garnet's Angel by Salley Vickers...

...The City of Romance
I have been to Venice in January 2007 with my cousin (unfortunately). The hotel we stayed was Caveletto hotel , which had magnificent views and was very close to Marcus square.
I fell in love with the city , it was like they have build a city on water .
I have never seen clear blue and green canal water which made you feel so relax when you looked at it.
The narrow roads and walk ways where amazing . We got lost many times and every time we where lost we found a new street and different views.
I loved the shopping bit , there where many shops around the city center. The most amazing thing was that we walked walked till 0100hrs and every where was still lively and no one bothered us it was a safest City I have seen.
We tried on so many masks and brought one as a souvenir.
I must say that Venice is full of love...

...My wife and I spent a week at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, situated across the road from Mann's Chinese Theatre. The hotel was were the first Academy awards were presented and is overflowing with cinema history. It is right on the walk of fame, and during our stay Johnny Depp had his star placed on the walk, he also had a party in the hotel afterwards. Arnold Schwarzenegger's new film was premiered too, and we sat for hours watching many holloywood stars go by. The road was closed off and stands erected, it was great.
Aprt from the cinema, L.A. has plenty to offer, we spent a day at Universal Stduios theme park, a leisurely day strolling along Santa Monic and Venice Beach, go on a Sunday it was buzzing! We drovce down to Sea World in San Diego, and drove out to a wonderful town called Lake Arrowhead. The view was stunning...

This is a beautiful hotel situated right at the end of the main promanade in Funchal. The views across the ocean, and into the city are perfect, with the sun setting over golden cliffs to the west in the evening towards the harbour. The hotel is situated more
