The hotel is on the main road that goes through santa susanna in costa brava spain.It took us an hour and half to get from the airport but we did have alot of drop offs to do on the way. I would advise getting a mini bus as your transfer rather than a coach as will get you there quicker. Also check (if you can) as to what time they are going to pick you up on your departure date as we got picked up at 2am for a 10:30am flight so were stuck at the airport for hours that was by bus. yet my sisters recently went back and booked a mini bus transfer through TRAVEL REPUBLIC and got picked up at 7am instead for the 10:30 flight which is much better especially if you have young children with you.
The hotel is set over a number of levels so there are alot of steps but they also have lifts to get you to each level. The resturant is at the lowest level(basement) and across the corridor they have the nightly quiz which is always fun but there are no windows so a bit dark and very hot down there. In the evenings the entertainment is pretty poor they have a few singers and they do karaoke but thats about it.
Ok the hotel isnt amazing, the pool is pretty small and the area around the pool isnt big enough for everyone thats there in the summer months, the enterainment wasnt great and the food was good but not great BUT there were lots of plus sides which when you weigh it all up it makes it an brilliant holiday. The main thing is the price, you can even get a flight there for a penny!!!!!! with RYAN AIR depending on their current deal so that on its on makes the holiday great. So look out for their cheap deals the best deals are the ones with no taxes and charges cos they are the bit that bumps the price up.
Its a cheap all inclusive hotel for example we paid £45 for 2 nights for 1 adult 1 child 1 infant. Cheap out alot of sites though because the prices vary alot could be double that on another site. My fav sites are TRAVEL REPUBLIC, ONTHEBEACH.CO.UK and LOWCOSTHOLIDAYS.CO.UK(and RYANAIR FOR FLIGHTS normally). You can book the hotel, the flight, the transfers and on travel republic even the airport parking all in one go but sometimes it works out cheap to do each bit with a different one of the ones ive just mentioned.
There is a small pak near the pool which you can have sun loungers just outside so thats ideal for little children during the day if they are bored of the pool.
The room are very basic just a bedroom room and a bathroom we had 3 beds in for myself my husband, our 2 year old and 5 month old which was fine. We did get told there was going to be a fridge but there wasnt. My parents and my 20 year old sister and 16 year old sister shared an appartment unfortunatly they had the same style room so they had 4 beds in the one room which was a bit of a sqeeze and not quite what we expected but nevermind again it was cheap.
Its right next door to a big shopping mall with a supermarket, sweet shop, meat shop, clothes shop, toy shop and even a pet shop. The main strip of bars, shops and the beach is walking distance(about 10mins) but if you dont fancy the walk then for free you can get on a cute blue train outside the hotel that will take you there and back which the kids loved. If you cant get on the train then they also have a bus that does the same route.
AS LONG AS YOU GO THERE WITH IN MIND THAT IT IS A CHEAP HOLIDAY AND YOU MAKE THE MOST OF IT THEN YOU WILL LOVE IT.
One bad thing is if you want a cot prob best taking one of the lightweight travel(like the samsonite bubble travel cot) cots as they charge 9euros a day for the cots. They do sell travel cots in the mall across the road which are cheaper than a week renting from the hotel though.
Water park in lloret d mar is very good fun but very steep and alot of walking.
We are going back again, overall loved it
