Disadvantages: Pathetic Traffic, Pollution and Crowd in the Old City, Watch out for a rare Stray Buffalo

...My association with Jaipur goes back a long way. It's incredible that after my first visit in the 1991, i still returned to the city in 1993 as the venue of my first employment. And my customers at the age of 21 were hardcore Indian Bureaucrats. It was an amazing experience and I'll let it remain as a small piece of my history unless you all request for details. Coming back to "Jaipur". My recent visit to the city was in 2001, with my wife on a second honeymoon of sorts. With three days at hand, invitation from a friend and Jaipur only 250 kilometers (that is from New Delhi), I zipped in my Daewoo Cielo to arrive in the town in all off 3.5 hours. Needless to say the new Toll Highway was a delight to drive on. Jaipur is well connected with Rail and regular flights from all major International Airports in India. It's really hot in Summers... Advantages: Luxury facilities in comparative price

...I have visited many time to jaipur recently. I can not forget this pink city jaipur & it's culture. There are lot of hotels out there, but Hotel Jai Mahal is the good one in all aspects regarding locality, cost, services etc. The Jai Mahal Palace, set amidst 18 acres of Mughal Gardens is an idea venue for receptions for up to 250 persons, small gatherings of 25, or even spectacular theme parties. Close to the airport and many historical landmarks, the hotel has a Business Centre and provides Internet and e-mail access. One conference hall and two board rooms can accommodate from 10 to 150 guests auditorium-style or 200 guests for cocktails and receptions at the conference hall. Advantages: Impressive architecture

...A visit to the Palace of the Winds in Jaipur can be a bit of an anti climax. Having imagined it standing in isolation in beautiful palace grounds it is somewhat disappointing to find that it is situated directly on the main road running through Jaipur. Our coach stopped on the same side of the road as the palace which meant that for a reasonable photo you had to cross the road. This is no easy feat in Jaipur. Traffic hurtles towards you, yet we were warned that rushing across the road is more likely to unnerve drivers and cause an accident than an unconcerned amble. Another hazard in attempting to cross the road is the danger of tripping over men women and children trying to sell you all manner of items. In all, it was a rushed and hassle filled moment.
