I went to santorini last year, with my girlfriend. The first thing I should mention(if you are afraid of flying),is the landing at Santoriniairport .I am not an easy flier, and when i saw us heading for the beach i thought "that was it"the plane does go really low over the beach. Once off the plane the airport is really small with only one duty free shop, but once you are on the coach the island really sells itself. There are grapes growing in every field you pass.On the coach we were informed Santorini is a hotspot for weddings, people come from all over the world to get married there, which tells you a lot. Also it is a popular holiday destination for "well to do athenians".Whilst there i think we saw two British tourists.
There are plenty of day trips to go on.We went on a boat trip, were you dive in the sea ,and swim over to the shore, and then cover yourself in the mud off the bottom(its very good for youre skin),it was a fantastic day. Another everyone goes on (including me)was the volcano trip.Again this is a boat trip out to an active volcano.absolutely amazing trip with beutiful scenery. The only downside to this trip ,is there is a lot of walking involved.
There are bars and restaurants aplenty ,that cater for anyone and everyone.
me and my girlfriend would spend the nights outside this bar (on deck chairs)sipping ouzos and looking out to see.Ill remember this holiday for a long time, and will definately be going back.
