...name of that hotel was Astarte suites. So I google on Internet found the site and it was just perfect for my honeymoon. I booked the tickets and the Junior suite with private jacuzzi for a 7night stay. The view from the window of the airplane as we were landing to Santorini airport was exstatic. Upon arrival there was a driver from the hotel, who transfered us to Astarte suites. After about 10 min. of driving the driver told us that we were there. ...
...minutes we left back to Astarte in order to find our peace. We decided not to go again to Fira. The last day we went to Oia, a small traditional village with many nice places to shoot some pictures. Oia was consisted of many many many (it's not a typing mistake) hotels. Me and my husband always wanted to visit santorini famous for its volcanic black course sand and breattaking scenary not to mention visiting some of the beatiful churches which are used on most greek postcards. We finally went last year with our 2 children to a resort called perivolos and stayed in a place called eleferia apartments. Now the journey time from thira airport was 45 minutes but wow to watch the scenery go by i was in heaven, the tour ...
...2 hundred churches on their tiny island many are built for heroes of war or unreturning sailors and that they also believe the lost city of atlantis lies deep bellow the sea once being part of their lovely island. Perivolos beach is a long narrow beach full of umbrellas and sunbeds with lots of bars tavernas and shops and very child friendly. ...and I stayed at the Pegasus Suites for 6 nights in early October. The hotel staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the service is first class. We stayed in the Junior Suite which was large with comfortable sitting area, nice decoration with all modern equipment and luxury amenities. It has a Jacuzzi bathtub and bathroom with marbles. However this time we stayed in the annexe - situated across the road from the main buildings and pool area, a small walled area of 6 dwellings, each of a different size. Smaragdi is family run the owners living adjacent to the property. As always their friendliness and help was exemplary. ...the hot hours" as the Smaragdi brochure rightly states! The seawater pool is kept beautifully clean and well maintained; and has ample sunbeds and umbrellas. Alongside the pool is the outdoor bar area where (mainly) English pop music is played, with plenty of tables and parasols. Food, which is good value and appetising, and drinks are served all day, and there is a daily Happy Hour(!) between 6 and 8 when beer is reduced and cocktails are half-price. ... Read review

enjoyed Santorini greatly, nothing for children other than the pool and beach, there is a small water park close to hotel but did not visit this. To be really honest it seemed that no children were allowed on the island which was just what we wanted. All buses went to Fira and you could travel out from there, or hire a car but the cost of the buses was a maximum of 2.5 euro's per person per day it wasnt worth hiring a car. ...pool at the hotel is the best I have seen but be warned it is deep at the deep end ( diving was allowed). Breakfast is coffee, bread two slices jam and butter but to be fair they brought extra if you asked. The pickup for the coach was about 100 yards from the hotel but the owner took all our cases to the pickup point in his car. This is not a luxury hotel but was clean well placed.
