Wonderful accommodation, great facilities
Review of La Pineta, Pula by annaf18

Advantages: SPA, wonderful accommodation, great facilities
Disadvantages: beach quite overcrowded in august

We got advice from our travel agent's (Design Holidays) and after reading a lot of reviews on the Net, we chose Forte Village for our two weeks in Sardinia. Wonderful accommodation, great facilities, and all in the middle of breathtaking scenery. The sea is just spectacular and in the evenings we were able to choose between going out and having fun in the "village square" or simply stay in our chalet and just chill out. What we appreciated the ...
...unlike other resorts where you almost feel it's your 'duty' to have fun. With a small child (age 3) we were also able to make use of the childrens' services , which meant we could spend 3 days having treatments done at the resort SPA! We'll definitely be back, I think its the ideal place for a great family holiday. ... Read review

Unbeliveably poor. Beware
Review of Grand Hotel Colonna Capo Testa, Capo Testa by JN24

Advantages: On the beach
Disadvantages: everything else

I don't think I've ever written a bad review on anything before but I had to share my experience on this hotel. Rustic is how I would sum up the whole hotel. I don't know where to begin! Our 'superior deluxe' room was neither superior nor deluxe despite the great view over the (crowded) beautiful beach. We went to look for private villas for the first 2 days to try get some luxury back into our holiday but failed so decided to make the most of the ...
...a look at the exec and normal suites - both of which looked bigger but just as basic (you did get 2 tvs!!). This would be at a ridiculous cost as well - an additional £2k for 6 days! The haphazard Fabio on reception (lovely but basically Mr Fawlty) accidentally let out the suites on the morning we were going to swap rooms, so we were moved to another (slightly better) superior deluxe. In my time there I saw 4 other couples complaining about the rooms ... Read review

Sardinia - It's not where Sardines are from!
Review of Il Querceto Hotel, Nuoro by beevorm

Advantages: Small Family Hotel, Beautiful Area, True Italian Family Life
Disadvantages: Little English Spoken, No On-Site Activities, No Dinner Menu

I was lucky enough to go to Sardinia a couple of years ago now, and wanting to stay away from the busy tourist centres, I opted to go to Dorgali, a small town in the province of Nuoro. The town gave me exactly what I wanted, a small town with a short drive to the coast and local life a plenty. Nuoro itself if straight up the other main road in Sardinia (There are only a couple leading away from the airport... One that goes round the coast, and the ...
...and villages along the spine of the island. Don't get me wrong, it's not a single lane, dust lined track. It's a whole load of kilometres of dual carriageway which give stunning mountain views, viaducts and aquaducts of stunning engineering design and marvellous panorama. So arriving (After a minor mishap with a pothole as deep as the cheddar gorge and a ruined tyre) mid afternoon in Dorgali I actually drove past this small family run hotel 3 times ... Read review

Review of Bellavista, Alghero by dawnand2

Advantages: Great Location. Friendly Staff, Clean & Comfortable, NIce food.
Disadvantages: No swimming Pool

My family & I spent a wonderful week at this hotel in July. We liked it so much we didn't want to come home. Don't be put off by the modern concrete exterior - The lobby, rooms & restaurant are all nicely decorated. The views from our balcony were breathtaking accross the bay. The hotel is ideally situated - far enough away from busy Alghero for relaxation , but near enough for convenience. We found the staff friendly & the food simple, but good ... Read review

Great for families but dissappointing beach
Review of Hotel Club Cala di Falco, Arzachena by pippa2

Advantages: Great accommodation, good service and facilities
Disadvantages: Small beach, not much else to do

...were not included in the hotel price and were expensive - the beach is not exclusive to the hotel and is a few minutes walk and across the busy coast road. We tried beaches further up the coast, but had to travel a few miles to find a better one. The restaurant was good and we enjoyed the food. We visited Porto Cervo and found it interesting but very expensive and rather sterile. Not much else to see in this part of Sardinia - only really suitable ... Read review
