I used SAS for a roundtrip Seattle-Berlin via Kopenhagen. I chose SAS because it offered one of the shortest flight-times as well as one of the lowest airfares available (Spring 2000). I was very happy with the airlines. I didn’t have to bother with my luggage in Kopenhagen, but could simply check it in once and then pick it up at my destination airport. The flight personnel was friendly and a lot was offered to keep the passengers busy and entertained. I was very surprised, though, at the constant offer of alcohol on board. I remember when I used another airline on the same route there wasn’t any alcohol that came with dinner, let alone cognac after dinner, and drinks whenever one felt like having one. The downside of this is, of course, that there may very likely be drunk people on board who might be noisy and disturb other passengers. I liked that during the times there was no film shown (they did show 3 films during the flight Seattle - Kopenhagen) one could see current statistics and a map with the plane’s current location. One warning I want to voice, though: bring your own food! While breakfast was okay, dinner was not only hard to identify, it wasn’t quite satisfying. Many a jaw hit the floor when people uncovered their mystery food... Nevertheless, next time I’ll bring some snacks and that’s that. I have nothing bad to say about this airline, they did a fine job.

Advantages: Very helpful and friendly staff, very good entertainment system to pass the hours away Disadvantages: not much room, but I was in the cheap seats!
Advantages: Competitive prices, plenty of destinations, good service Disadvantages: You have to pay for food and drink on board - but that's almost standard nowadays...
