We flew with Scandinavian Airlines from Stansted to Stockholm and then on to the northern outpost of Lulea. The return fairs amounted to around 200 pounds for each of us, booked online with Travelocity. Those are good prices for late June, and this was Midsummer Weekend which may mean little more than a travelling funfair in town in England but is a big deal in Sweden. Its hard to find fault with our travel experience on SAS; all the 'planes were on time, and check-in and service generally was fast and efficient. We enjoyed the free fruit and drink at the departure gate if not the free newspapers - I'm not a big reader of 'AftonBladet' or 'Dagens Nyheter'. (It almost goes without saying that all the SAS staff spoke impeccable English to aid monolingual travellers like myself). Food varied somewhat from flight to flight but wasn't bad at all for travel in this price-range, although vegetarians are unlikely to overwhelmed. The 'planes felt comfortable to us, but we managed to nab those 'extra-leg-room' emergency exit seats each time, and its fair to say that the jets all had a good few airmiles on the clock. SAS flew us to a beautiful country with a minimum of stress at a fair price. The only people likely to be disappointed are stereotype-hunters expecting the cabin crew to consist entirely of blonde Scandinavian dolly-birds !

Advantages: Very helpful and friendly staff, very good entertainment system to pass the hours away Disadvantages: not much room, but I was in the cheap seats!
Advantages: Competitive prices, plenty of destinations, good service Disadvantages: You have to pay for food and drink on board - but that's almost standard nowadays...
