Schloss Charlottenburg is the last surviving palace of the city and it's a good example of Baroque architecture. It was built as a summer retreat for Sophie Charlotte, the first queen of Prussia. Inside the palace, the collection of antiques and painting really shows you the passion Sophie has for art and music. There is an impressive mosaic garden inside where you can take a walk. My personal impression of the garden is that it is a replica of the Palace de Versailles-well it is believed that Sophie was a big fan of the design used in the French court.
On the garden grounds are two buildings: the mosoleum and the Belvedere. The mosoleum houses the tombs of a few former Prussian royals. As for the Belvedere, it used to be a teahouse but it is now the home of a collection of 18-19 century porcelain.
