Advantages: Very Picturesque Town Disadvantages: Can Get Busy During The Summer
Seahouses is a small picturesque town that lies on the Northumberland Coastline surrounded by some of the best Beaches in England. It has a resident population of just 1,800 people but during the Summer Months its numbers are swelled vastly by the hundered of visitors that descend here for the day or weekend.
My earliest memory of Seahouses is from being just six years old when I went there with my Parents and Brother for a weekend during the School ... ..."Last weekend I went to Seahouses with my mum, dad and brother...." The Teacher had obviously never heard of the place and crossed out the word "Seahouses" replacing it instead with the two words "See Houses" as she obviously assumed we had been looking at Property.

Advantages: Great holiday destination Disadvantages: A bit too bucket-and-spade for me
I visited Seahouses in May so that we could go on a boat trip to see the nesting terns (more about that later.)

Seahouses itself seems to be much like any other seaside town. It has lost it's fishing-village charm and is all candy-floss and buckets. There are enough little gift shops to make it worth a look around, and the high street has a Somerfield and everyday shops, too.
The seafront is the bit to see. Nice pubs. Lovely view, Boats to look at. We went down to the front early in the morning, and with the sun coming in low we got some ...

Advantages: Very picturesque. Disadvantages: Everything has a price.
Seahouses is a traditional small fishing town on the Northumberland coast. However the fishing trade has declined and the harbour is now mainly used for boats taking tourists out to see the wildlife on the nearby Farne Islands. A lot of the town around the harbour has also changed with the emphasis now on gift shops, fish and chip takeaways and amusement arcades. The town however still has a very good feel to it and well worth a visit. The local ... ...the tourists. All of the car parking in the town is Pay and Display and if you want to use a public toilet be ready to pay 20p each (adults and children). Also all of the fish and chip shops seem to be charging more than you would expect in a seaside town. The extra costs are however worth the money as the town is very picturesque with a very interesting history. The seawater is very clear, but cold and as the wind is often bracing, blowing off the ...
