Advantages: A good clean city with a pleaasant atmosphere.
Disadvantages: Not suitable for children

...without ever entering the streets, this can be good on a rainy day. The Shows --- ------- Many of the Casino’s have a good selection of shows ranging from comedians, to rock n roll, to plays. I would advice that you do some research before you arrive and purchase tickets in advance as it seems very hard to find where the shows are and what time they start. The Restaurants. --- ------------- There are literally hundreds of restaurants in the city. Many do not open until 6PM, although a few provide a lunch menu. My particular favorite was the ‘Hollywood’ restaurant that had much memorabilia from the movies as well as reasonably priced food of good quality. Advantages: Lots
Disadvantages: getting on and off the ship can be entertaining

...We went on the Carnival Cruise Lines ' Sensation ' in September 2000 sailing from Tampa..This was our second cruise with Carnival, the first one was in 1996 from Port Canaveral ( yes next door the the Kennedy Space Centre)to the Bahamas for 5 days on the ' Fantasy ' which we thoroughly enjoyed, but was tooooooooooo short, we were only just getting used to it all when we had to get off....anyway back to the story..... It started with a real bang, we got caught up in A hurricane which meant we couldn't leave Tampa on time, we were put up overnight in Tampa by Carnival in the Doubletrees Hotel but had to pay for our own food, the next day no one knew what was going on, very little information given out, but eventually we were ferried to the local Mall and dumped there, we were told to be outside at 3 pm for the buses to take us to the Port... Advantages: located right in the middle of the strip, perfect location
Disadvantages: Choice of Restaurants

...This hotel is right in the middle of the strip, so perfect location for visitng all other hotels. The lobby looks like a mini Paris, so you do not feel like you are in just a place like Las Vegas. Room are of a good size and actually very easy to find considering the size of the hotel. Casino is not as big as some others, but still good choice of tables and machines, can get very busy on a weekend. They have an onsite theatre which shoes hit shows such as we will rock you (which i think has now finished). staff are very friendly, but remember that in the the USA you need to tip, especially bar / restaurant staff. overall the hotel really fits in with the "out of this world" experience of Las Vegas....
