Advantages: Music and the beach combined. A totally different setting. Disadvantages: Overpowering heat. Really overpowering. Very bad crowd control measures.
the 3 biggest European events, and so now was the turn of Benicāssim in Spain, which is probably about the 4th biggest. I'd heard of one friend of a friend who had been there, but essentially I did not know what to expect. Anyway, I was able to get a ticket at face value (160 euro, which is quite reasonable in comparison), which is for 4 days of music, and a whopping 9 days of camping. I then booked a Ryanair flight to Reus airport (near Barcelona), and so I was all set.
You fly in over the Pyrenees, and the first thing you notice about the area is that it's quite rugged. The first thing to do at the airport is to take off your jeans and wring the sweat out from your shirt. Benicāssim itself appears to be a midsized town, with a Lidl, a "Chelsea" pub, a water park, and 10-storey blocks of hotels and apartments. The festival site is a couple ...
Advantages: good music Disadvantages: acommodation
Benicassim festival has been celebrated in Benicassim (town located in the east coast of Spain) for the last 10 years. It takes place on the first weekend of august. Four days of concerts in a precincts 15 minutes far from the centre of the town.

This is not very advisable since it uses to be incredibly hot at that time of the year and the bathrooms are often crowded and dirty (no hot water). If you decide to rent an appartment (which may be the best option) or book a hotel room you should do it months before the concerts because the town is pretty busy those days. ...
Advantages: Position and service Disadvantages: Some of the decor
I lived in Spain for nearly 18 years and used this hotel when I had a Corporate Hospitality company and also helped them with their marketing so feel I am in a good postion to give an informed opinion of this hotel.
The hotel is about 40 minutes north of Valencia in the little coastal village of Benicassim. It is set in a priviledge place overlooking the sea and is a 75 room Spa Boutique hotel with a personal feel. It is family run and has a real family feel. The spa facilities are more medical than luxury but they are changing this by introducing more pampering products and there are good value 3, 5 or 7 day deals, all inclusive.
The decor of the hotel is ecclectic and the style has yet to be really defined (there are many antiques all over the place but not arranged in any special way)and the cuisine is highly commendable ...
