Advantages: fantastic 4* hotel Disadvantages: don't go there in the week that they close!
We have just returned from our honeymoon in Cyprus. We stayed at the Capo BayHotel, which stands on the Fig Tree Bay in the resort of Protaras. It is one hours drive from Larnaca Airport.
(I will reveiw Protaras as a resort separately. This review is solely on the Capo BayHotel).
The hotel was fantastic. It is 4star hotel and the service and facilities are great. The Capo Bayhotel has 225 rooms
over 4 floors and was built in 1985. It offers a gymnasium with massage and jacuzzi, tennis, scuba diving, pool, 2 swimming pools (1 heated) and 4 different restaurants to eat in, including 1 beside the pool.

Advantages: Lovely bedrooms, large shower, bar staff friendly, luggage room to leave bags. Disadvantages: Too far from city centre, transport costs to hotel very dear, area undesirable.

"Looks lovely, oh it says it's close to the town centre- within walking distance- can't wait!" was my reaction. Out of the airport we trundled a few weeks later with our cases and got into a waiting taxi. He drove us to the hotel. It took a LONG time. As he was unloading our cases with us he said "This is not a good area for you." I asked him what he meant by that. "Is not a good area and is too far to walk to town, you will have to use trams. Don't pay all the time ...
