Up A Foggy River
Review of The Yangtze Gorges by mornev

Advantages: Knowledge Culture Adventure
Disadvantages: Fog

...Jules Verne tourists climbed off the coach that had taken them from the city of Shanghai to the River Port of Zhenjang on the Yangtze to board their cruise ship the MV Victoria Rose and their eight night journey upstream along the Yangtze River in China ending at the river city of Chongqing. We shouldn't have been that weary. Six intriguing days and nights spent in Beijing and finally Shanghai had been fascinating. Our minds were full of the exciting ...
...three hours from Shanghai to the River Port. The fact that China is under construction meant that the motorway from Shanghai to the River Port was still being built as we drove on it, resulting in the journey taking nine hours. The road was so rough that we spent the entire time either hitting the roof of the coach with our heads or jarring our spines on the seats. All of us were dreaming of a relaxing cruise with the highlights being our visit to ... Read review

Shanghai, a beautiful cultural city in China!
Review of General: Shanghai by heeheehaahaa

Advantages: Classy & Elegant city
Disadvantages: Very Cold in winter!

Shanghai, is a very beautiful city in China. The people are polite and well-educated. I was there during Christmas last year and i feel very cold. probably i was from the tropical climate region, so was not so used to the cold weather. Siu lon bao is steam buns with stuffed meat and crab essense. The "siu lon bao" is in the yu garden district is very delicious. If you choose to eat on the street, you can line up and pay $10 Renminbi (RMB) for several ...
...can go up to the second floor restaurant and order the buns. You can enjoy it when a cup of tea. It will cost you around $20 RMB. Ok, if you are still not happy, you can sit back, relax, have a cup of tea with the buns, and a spectacular view, it will cost you $30+ RMB. **$1.00 EURO = $11.1420 RMB Shanghai has a lot of beautiful European style buildings. A lot of buildings are converted into restaurants or clubs. I went to have dinner in a classy ... Read review

The heaven road of noodle
Review of Yunnan Road Night Market (Shanghai) by kaka22

Advantages: Lots of nice Chinese food available
Disadvantages: Sometimes is too crowdy

Yunnan Lu Road Night Market specialises mainly in noodles but be prepared for all manner of other foods, the bizarre included. Stall holders provide snappy service and make something of a show as they juggle their pots and woks. It takes literally seconds for a noble grandma to prepare the noodles from scratch, string them out and serve them up,but they are absolutely delicious. The noodles are by and large fat, flat and white. They are easy to ...
...Mandarin(The official Chinese), or an adventurous palate. A common error is to ask for ''meifan'' instead of ''mifan''. The former means trouble, the latter means rice. You'd better bring a guide with you otherwise be prepared to get lost in the crowd of Yunnan Lu Road Night Market . ... Read review

Nice Shopping place
Review of Nanjing Lu (Shanghai) by gaosha

Advantages: so many shopping malls, so many choices
Disadvantages: not a very good environment

Nanjing Lu is the most busyness place in Shanghai, there are soooo many shopping malls, just like oxford road in London, and even busier than London. You can find whatever you want to buy on this street. There are so many famouse brand on this street, such as LV, Gucci, Chanel even Hermes. Also there are lots of normal brands, teenagers favourates. This is a place that suitable for people from any age and any financial status. The disadvantage is ... Read review

canīt miss it
Review of The Bund (Shanghai) by wailywaily

Advantages: views of the old and new Shanghai
Disadvantages: people everywhere

The Bund is one of the most characteristic places of Shanghai and its photos appear in most guides and websites about the city. It is the promenade next to the river where most of the foreign companies settled after the Opium Wars and the first mad rush into Chinaīs market and it seems to split this area into the old city and the new city. I arrived at the Bund from Nanjing Road, so I was facing the area of Pudong, built around during the nineties ...
...see the highest sky-scrapers (which, as most things Chinese, have a little Chinese twist and have a peculiar design), the famous television tower with its Pearls (which you can visit and go to the top to get some more Shanghai views provided itīs just rained and thereīs less pollution so you can see something). If you go in the evening everything lights up to give you the impression of a modern city living in the future. Itīs like looking into some ... Read review
