Up A Foggy River
Advantages: Knowledge Culture Adventure Disadvantages: Fog
...Jules Verne tourists climbed off the coach that had taken them from the city of Shanghai to the River Port of Zhenjang on the Yangtze to board their cruise ship the MV Victoria Rose and their eight night journey upstream along the Yangtze River in China ending at the river city of Chongqing. We shouldn't have been that weary. Six intriguing days and nights spent in Beijing and finally Shanghai had been fascinating. Our minds were full of the exciting ... ...three hours from Shanghai to the River Port. The fact that China is under construction meant that the motorway from Shanghai to the River Port was still being built as we drove on it, resulting in the journey taking nine hours. The road was so rough that we spent the entire time either hitting the roof of the coach with our heads or jarring our spines on the seats. All of us were dreaming of a relaxing cruise with the highlights being our visit to ...

Shanghai Bund... Ichiban...
Advantages: Nice place to relax yet in the city, great place to shop for branded goods Disadvantages: better if the people there are more friendly
...this street seems very fashionable. The tour guide told me women in Shanghai are willing to save all their money on meals just to get branded wears and at the same time go on diet. The whole street along Shanghai Bund is filled with colonial type of building. Great historical architecture being one of the richest collection of art deco architecture in the world, housing most of the important buildings such as the banks and the consulates. Every one ... ...The whole stretch is all brightly lit up at night with very nice scenery no matter walking on the street or viewing it on the cruise. Day and night of the bund looks very different. Personally like the night view more.
I feel that the bund is most enjoyable viewing it on the cruise especially at night. With the cool breeze. (I went in october so it was quite chilly) Every angle of the bund is worth taking picture of. Take your time enjoying the ...

shangai.. the city that never sleeps!
Advantages: so much to do n very modern... i could definetly swap london living for shanghai! Disadvantages: crowded, the smell of the streets not very nice
So a couple of summers back my friend a native from shanghai who moved to the UK when she was a child asked me if I would like to accompany her to shanghai over the summer..china immedietly conjured up images of red silk dresses, smiling ladies, delicious food and something very exotic and different... I had basically no idea what I was agreeing to when I was at the travel agents booking my tickets and sorting out my visa (the agents are very friendly ... ...in almost any chinese travel agency in china town, london). Im not sure what I expected.. I had seen some pictures of the famous shanghai skyline.. but was still awed by the sheer height of some of the skyscrapers and we ended up staying in a flat on the 32nd floor - not fun for those with vertigo like yours truly.. but it was lovely nonetheless and in the middle of a boiling summer it was lovely to walk out into the balcony and feel the strong winds. ...

The heaven road of noodle
Advantages: Lots of nice Chinese food available Disadvantages: Sometimes is too crowdy
Yunnan Lu Road Night Market specialises mainly in noodles but be prepared for all manner of other foods, the bizarre included.
Stall holders provide snappy service and make something of a show as they juggle their pots and woks. It takes literally seconds for a noble grandma to prepare the noodles from scratch, string them out and serve them up,but they are absolutely delicious.
The noodles are by and large fat, flat and white. They are easy to ... ...Mandarin(The official Chinese), or an adventurous palate. A common error is to ask for ''meifan'' instead of ''mifan''. The former means trouble, the latter means rice.
You'd better bring a guide with you otherwise be prepared to get lost in the crowd of Yunnan Lu Road Night Market . ...
