Advantages: Hot, Beaches, Purpose Built Resort Disadvantages: Locals and Food
...a week's holiday to Egypt, Sharm el Sheikh, Naama Bay to be precise. So last September we made our way to Egypt, the flight was 5 hours and 20 minutes (ish) and it was hot, we had landed in the evening and although it was dark it was like stepping in to a sauna (lovely). Sharm el Sheikh is made up of three bays (quite confusing) as no-one really tells you this and when I originally started looking for package deals and hotels I didn't know where they were, everything just says Sharm el Sheikh (very annoying) so I made sure I asked which bay each and every hotel was in. Naama Bay is the biggest bay and full of tourists, restaurants, locals, shops, bars, excursion places, dive shops and taxi's, plenty ...
Advantages: Easy acess to hotel, coral reefs onsite, friendly staff, good prices Disadvantages: None
...Resort as it has the Sinai Dive School on the site with easy access to the sea from a jetty.
The Sinai Dive School
The dive school is situated at the bottom of the Hilton site complex and is an easy walk to get there, about 5- 10 minutes from main reception. This school is PADI registered and has just celebrated its 20 year anniversary this year.

The main entrance to the School is adjacent the Sunset Bar on the far extent ... ...the front and rear of the school and this is very handy for us abled bodied too as when you are hot and got all your diving equipment on it can make it easier than stairs.
As you enter through the main entrance, there are two rooms on your left – this is where we did our paperwork/theory sections and watched the video section of the course work each day.

This is First Choice Resort hotel on an all inclusive meal plan. I went there with my partner, elder son (12) and my youngest (1). We got a taxi from the airport cost 100 EYGP, negotiate before taking one. We organised one through the hotel. Fab hotel. We'd never done all inclusive before, so the rugby scrum at meal times took a little getting used to at first. There's food for every taste in the main restaurant but I would recommend you get there ... ...The Mermaid at lunch time is a good alternative and the burgers are great. Italian not worth the visit and neither the Mermaid in the evening, which you have to pay extra for. Make sure you get plenty of water at tea time, as the water in your mini bar is chargeable and from the dining hall it's free. ...to do some shopping in sharm but struggled greatly. if you get the chance leave the resort and do some trips. any diving trip will be fab - the fish are amazing. the mt sinai trip is amazing but not for the faint hearted - its a 3 hr climb in the dark to see the sunrise.
