Shell Beans Restaurant, Maldive

Advantages: great to do nothing but sun bathe and relax
Disadvantages: not good if you like a 'doing' holiday as there is nothing to do!

...I have travelled to the maldives several times and have found it to be the most stress free enviroment of your life. Beatiful surroundings fantastic diving and great food! My favorite island was one called fun island. It has a 4 star rating and is great value for money. The island takes 15 minutes to walk round thats how small it is! The rooms are comfortable and air conditioned. the restaurant is self service and you have to share a table with strangers! This isnt a great problem if this is your idea of hell as you just eat before them or after. the island is all inclusive so u can eat and drink to your hearts content... Read review

...Visited Kuramathi Village in Dec '06 for our second visit to the Maldives. Booked with Eclipse Direct for All Inclusive at the Village. Kuramathi is quite a large island for the Maldives so is split into 3 resorts but still only takes around 20 mins to walk to the other end. The AI offered is really good for the Maldives as often there are extras like cocktails to pay for, but not here, it really was AI, even got a weeks hire of snorkel equipment and 2 free trips thrown in. Room was lovely, large b/room with outside shower and huge 4 poster bed. AI restuarant was very good with many options but would highly recommend trying other restaurants even though you pay extra. We went to the curry buffet at the Indian restaurant and the Island BBQ Grill - both were fab. Amazing beaches and great place to go to chill out.... Read review

...bread to Toast Jams, honey, syrups, Boiled eggs Scrambled eggs Sausage Baked beans Rice and Curry (yes.. I did have some curry for breakfast) Tea/coffee There was an egg chef every morning, who would do fried or omelette eggs for you. It was amazing as he could remember what every person had ordered previously. Lunch and evening meals Various Soups Fresh baked rolls and breads Salad selection Various Vegetables Roast, chipped mashed potatoes Rice dishes Curries- vegetarian, chicken, beef, Beef casserole Spaghetti Lasagne Pasta dishes Various sauces to die for Pork dishes (which normally are rare in the Maldives) Various Chinese dishes, stir fries, noodles, chilli beef, Lemon chicken There are various theme nights. Grilled BBQ fish, chicken, beef, you name it they grilled it. Desserts Mousse of various flavours- all delicious... Read review
