Advantages:	Central location just off Princess Street ideal if travelling by train .
Disadvantages:	Definately up - market, service can be a bit hit and miss, at bit behind american sheratons .

Excellent location, try and get one of the rooms at the front on the top floors which have gopd views over Edinburgh Castle especially romantic floodlite one at night.

Can be rather a nightmare finding the vehicle entrance at the back of the hotel if the edinburgh one way system gets the better of you at the top end of Princess street. Strange reception area on lowerground floor at back of hotel away from the rest of hotel.

Grand open lounge bar area very often full of middle class americans, reasonably price buffet style restuarant. The hotel can seem very quite and inpersonal during the quite winter season.

Hotel had major refurbishment a few years back, rooms on top floors at front are spacious.
