This hotel is very magical as it is situated right next door to Disneyland California and Disney’s California Adventure Park.
Not only is it within great reach of these two Parks but it is in the heart of Orange Country and it is in a good situation to see Los Angeles and its fine beaches and attractions. It is also conveniently close to Los Angeles Airport.
The hotel is magnificent and has a castle-theme. The year round beautiful weather in Los Angeles makes this a perfect holiday destination anytime of the year. The hotel has all the facilities that you would expect from any Sheraton Resort however this one just has that special edge.
With it only being situated a mile away from the Disneyland Parks, the hotel supplies FREE transportation to and from the Parks during opening hours. There is also a Disney desk inside the hotel where you can buy tickets for the Parks and for discounted multiple-day Disneyland Resort Park Hopper Tickets; which are definitely worth the money if you are planning on spending a lot of time at the Parks.
The hotel is completely smoke free! The staff are very friendly and helpful also, they go out of their way to make sure that you have an enjoyable and memorable stay and I felt welcome there from the moment I stepped inside the door. There is a 24-hour reception desk which you can call at any time for assistance. Some of the staff are also multi-lingual which shows they are very eager to please all nationalities and make everyone feel welcome.
There are porters which take your bag up to your room and do the usual routine, they are very helpful and pleasant however and really are grateful of any tips. There is room service available too which is of a good standard and a reasonable price!
As far as ‘fun facilities’ go there is an outdoor heated pool and whirlpool which are available for use. The pool is stunning and has fabulous sun loungers looking out to the back of the hotel surrounded by tall trees.
The hotel stands on 13-acres of beautiful gardens with a scenic koi pond.
There is a gym also with various pieces of fitness equipment and there are golf courses nearby. There is also a games room and video arcade in the hotel along with a gift shop however there is so much to do and see that being able to spend time in the hotel is rare.
The hotel has 489 guest rooms and suites, all of which are delightful and of a very high standard. It doesn’t matter which room you book, you will not be disappointed!
The rooms are beautifully decorated and are kept in brilliant condition. They have all the amenities that you would want in a room, plus some. There are even connecting rooms available for if there is a large family or party wanting access to each other’s rooms.
The rooms are of a very good size, as are the en-suites which all come with a shower and/or bath. The fresh towels and sheets are changed daily and the rooms are tidied.
There is a refrigerator in the room, a desk, telephone, coffee and tea facilities, iron/ironing board, television with cable, video games, a hairdryer and there is also internet access (optional).
There is a wonderful dining room which offers a great variety of food at all times throughout the day and is ideal for having breakfast in, as there is a great buffet which is really good value for money.
There is the ‘California Deli’ which is open from 6am to 12am and serves Deli cuisine. The dress code for this dining is casual as is the setting and is my kind of place to eat as there is a real family atmosphere and it is very laid-back with some great American food.
On a similar note there is also the ‘Garden Court Bistro’ which has a better setting and is a little bit bigger however it is similar in atmosphere and has typical American food.
There is also the ‘Garden Court Bar and Lounge’ which is aimed at adults as it serves cocktails and snacks. It is open from about 4pm till midnight most days and has quite a dressy setting.
*Los Angeles*
There is always something to do or see in Los Angeles, even if it’s just soaking up the Hollywood atmosphere. It is an amazing place to visit and has a fabulous atmosphere!
There are so many sights to see and places to visit; below I will name a few of the best.
‘Hollywood’ –
Hollywood is possibly one of the most famous places on earth with the biggest houses, celebrities and shops. The Hollywood sign is a must see and there are various locations from where you can get a good view of it. You can see it from around town but there are specific points where you can get a really good view and photo of it. It is not possible to get right up to the sign but you can get quite far up by foot.
There is also Hollywood Boulevard which is home to the famous ‘Hollywood Walk of Fame’, definitely a must-see if you are a fan of celebrities as you can see all the stars and marvel at the designer shops.
‘Disneyland’ –
There are two Disneyland Parks right next door to each other, Disneyland and California’s Disney Adventure. Both Parks are quite similar in attractions however the California Park is definitely the one to visit if you are only going to go to one as it all about Hollywood and America and it has a really great atmosphere that is unique to California.
The California’s Adventure Park is home to the largest Mickey Mouse Rollercoaster in the world!
‘Tours’ –
In order to see the city at its best it is vital to take a tour, that way you get shown everything you want to see. The list of tours available is huge, no matter what your interest is there is something for everyone. For example; ‘Los Angeles City Tour by Air’, ‘Sea World San Diego’, ‘Hollywood Open Air Fun Bus’, ‘Los Angeles Evening Tour’ and ‘Movie Star’s Homes’, just to name a few.
There are lots of companies that do tours and they are not expensive so they are easy to find. You can ask your tour operator or at the hotel for more details.
‘Sunset Boulevard’ –
Sunset Boulevard or the ‘Sunset Strip’ is one of L.A.’s best known streets, it is filled with nightclubs, restaurants and clothes shops. It is best to explore it on foot to discover all of its charms.
*Price & Bookings*
To book a room or for more information on bookings you can visit the website or send them an e-mail, all the contact details are listed below.
Depending on who you book the room through depends on what price you get. If you go straight to the hotel for a booking then you will get the normal price however there are deals to be had through such companies as expedia.co.uk and lastminute.com just to name a few.
It is definitely worth shopping about for a deal. When we stayed there, the price was included in a package price and therefore wasn’t negotiable.
In September the average price for a room for one person, per night is a minimum of $148 (according to the Sheraton website).
*My Opinion*
After a long journey across California, Los Angeles was our final destination. We arrived at the Sheraton in Anaheim with a little anticipation as we knew it was so close to Disneyland and suspected that it may have been aimed more at children. However we couldn’t of been more wrong.
As we approached the hotel we noticed the stunning building which it is and drawing up closer to it saw what detail they had gone to to make this Sheraton very special. We pulled up and parked at ease in the available parking facility.
On entering the hotel, our suspicions were blown out of the water as we saw a classy and sophisticated entrance area with a beautiful view of gardens and a pool out of the back. It was everything we had hoped it would be; classy and ‘posh’ yet with a magical Disney feel with a brilliant atmosphere for kids to enjoy as well as adults.
The staff were very friendly and we was soon being shown to our room which was of an incredible standard with a beautiful view of the outside courtyard. There was everything in the room that we could have wanted and more; all the facilities were just brilliant. The room and en-suite was spotless and it was pure luxury.
The food was delicious and the morning breakfast buffet was incredible, it really set you up for the day. There was fruit, cereal, pancakes, bacon... absolutely everything that you would expect from a classic American breakfast.
The fact that there was a tour desk in the hotel together with free transfers to Disneyland meant that we only had to go down to the lobby to start our adventures of exploring L.A. The staff were really helpful in advising the best deals for tours and telling us what really was worth visiting which was a great help!
We had so much fun visiting the Disneyland Parks and sightseeing in L.A and it was one of the most memorable holidays I have had, it is definitely recommended and may be a little expensive but is definitely worth every penny!
The only regret I have about my visit was that we had so many plans and things to visit in L.A. that we didn’t spend enough time at the hotel! If I was to go again I would definitely put some time aside to relax in the hotel and enjoy all of its facilities.
I cannot say one bad thing about this hotel, it is an amazing place for people of all ages to visit and stay with a fantastic positioning to visiting all parts of L.A. For children especially it has that extra magical feel as it is only down the road from Disneyland. Overall it is just brilliant and I definitely hope that I will return one day!
The pictures which I have put up show the hotel from the back and the beautiful pond along with a few snaps from Disneyland.

hire a car from somewhere like 'Dollar Car Rentals' and take the car parking.
Tickets fees change from season to season, so I suggest you keep a close eye out at http://www.disneyland.com for any changes in price. One day probably won't be enough to take in all the magic, so I suggest a 5-day park-hopper. That means you have a 5 day pass into both Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure. Some of these packages on offer are fantastic for making your holiday that extra bit more special. If you stay in a Disney hotel then for every day that you stay there, you are allowed in the park.
A 'character breakfast' is a great idea. Basically, you get into the park early to go and have breakfast joined by all your favourite characters. It's a great photo oppurtunity and the kids will love it!
I've only ever stayed in 'SheratonAnaheim ...
