Ok so let?s give some background information about the hotel, the Luxor hotel is located in Paradise, Nevada, along the main Las Vegas Strip, which has the famous casinos and hotels. Construction began on the Luxor in 1991, with the idea of creating the first fully themed hotel resort in Las Vegas; the idea was to create an Egyptian theme, which revolved around creating a pyramid design for the main building to incorporate the name. As noted the hotel is named after the famous city of Luxor in Egypt. The Luxor was fully opened in 1993, and at the time the building was the tallest on the strip, with a total estimated cost of $375 million, however in 1998, two extra hotel towers were added along with a theatre, with an additional cost of $675million.

Iberotel Luxor
Having stayed all inclusive at the Iberotel in Sharm el Sheikh, and found it to be good value and quality, when we visited Luxor, we decided to stay at the Iberotel Luxor.
The hotel is situated on the banks of the Nile and when we were looking at phots of different hotels, this is what appealed to Little miss, the fact that the pool is on the Nile. The hotel information told us that there are lovely views of the river, its West Bank and the Theben hills from the restaurant and pool, and when we arrived we found this to be totally true. It is located in the centre of Luxor, 10 min walking distance from the Luxor Temple and 20 min from Luxor Airport. So, given that we wanted an all inclusive clean hotel close to all of the ?sights?, this looked to be exactly what we wanted.

I booked this holiday 4 weeks before i left and paid £459 for 2 weeks B&B at this 5 star hotel. This included return transfers and flights. I booked it through Thomas Cook. It is much cheaper to book through a tour operator because flights to Luxor are very exensive. Because of the price i wasn't expecting the hotel to be like the other Sheraton's i have stayed in before. Such as the Sheraton in Los Angles which was absolutely fantastic.
As soon as the Excel Airways plane touched down in Luxor Internatonal the locals constantly pestered us to rent trolley and buy food and drink. This was a cultural shock to me because it was the first 3rd World country i have ever been to.
Anyway after about a 20 minute ride in the coach we pulled up outside the SheratonLuxor. The reception was fantastic-huge with loads of comfy seats ...
