My boyfriend and I stayed at the Sheraton Skyline hotel on 2nd October this year. I booked the hotel through priceline.co.uk and got the room for £51 including taxes, which I though was quite reasonable for a 4 star hotel.
Location We found the Sheraton Skyline fairly easy to find. The hotel website allows you to print off a map and this made it quite easy to find the hotel if it wasn't for my boyfriend taking a few wrong turns! The hotel is on a large road that is absolutely heaving with hotels. Literally the whole road consists of hotels, some very large and impressive ones such as the Marriott. We were flying from Heathrow airport the next day and this hotel was about a 10-minute drive to Heathrow (at the most) and was in an extremely convenient location.
Arrival Upon arrival we followed directions to the car park. We were
surprised to find that we had to pay £12 to park the car. I found this slightly rude seeing as we had paid to stay at the hotel; I assumed the parking would be free. But it wasn't so we took a token from the machine and parked the car. The car park was set to the side of the hotel. I found this to be a good location as it means you car would be fairly safe as the security staff would be able to see anyone entering the car park.
We entered the gigantic reception and approached the check in desk. We handed over our paperwork and the woman at the desk confirmed our details. She asked if we would like smoking or non-smoking. As we are both smokers, we obviously requested a smoking room. The lady informed us that the smoking room available did not have a bath, only a shower. We both wanted a bath the next morning so we opted for the non smoking room with a bath in the end. The woman handed us our key and a member of staff took our bags to the room.
The Room Our room was on the 10th floor and the view over looked the car park at the side. The room was massive and we were impressed at the cleanliness of it. In the room, there was a humongous bed (easily 7 foot wide) and you could have fitted a whole family in there!, 2 full size wardrobes, a small office area, with a desk, chair, lamp and a point for Internet access. Opposite from the small office area, there was a three-seater sofa with a coffee table in front of it. The bathroom was large with a full size bath, a power shower (over the top of the bath) and a large sink area with complimentary toiletries such as shampoo, cotton buds, moisturiser etc. Included in the room was a hairdryer, an iron and ironing board and a safe. There was also a medium sized fridge. One half of the fridge was already stocked with items supplied by the hotel and you could use the rest of the fridge to store you own items in. The hotel had already stocked the fridge with shots of various international brands of alcohol. These were VERY expensive, £6 was the cheapest one! And that was for just the shot of alcohol without any sort of mixer. There was also a selection of chocolate bars that had been supplied by the hotel and the cheapest one of these was £2 for a Mars bar which again we thought was expensive.
The Facilities The Sheraton Skyline has a medium sized Gym (which is free to use if you want to!) and also a swimming pool, which is free for guests. We did not use any of these facilities but we did have a look at them and they were both clean and obviously well maintained. There was also a restaurant but the prices were so expensive we didn't bother. A starter was between £10-15 and a main between £30 - £40. We asked at reception if we would be able to get the car out of the car park (obviously we didn't want to pay £12 twice for car parking). The lady informed us that she could validate our car parking token for 30 minutes which would allow us to pop out for half an hour without being charged twice for the car parking. We thought this was useful but felt that they could have let us go out without a time limit! After we had popped out for something to eat we decided to find their outside pool bar and have a couple of drinks before we went to bed. The outside pool bar was gorgeous. They were playing music softly in the background and there were plenty of tables and chairs to accommodate all the guests. The scene looked really pretty as the pool was lit up and the bar was in the middle with a thatched roof. I have to say, it definitely set me off into a holiday mood. I was brought back to reality when I saw the prices of their drinks though. My boyfriend had half a pint of beer and I had a cocktail, which came in a small wine glass. The drinks totalled £18, which I thought was an absolute rip off! Although I have to say my cocktail was yummy.
On the whole, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay near to Heathrow, especially when booking through priceline.co.uk. When you think, we only paid £50 for a gorgeous room in a 4 star hotel. The only thing that could have made our stay more pleasant would have been free parking and cheaper drinks at the bar!

Although the hotel sounds nice do not like the fact you are being ripped off for car parking. Drinks etc are always well expensive in that area and chain of hotel.
