Two years ago, I got a wedding invitation card from my relatives and according to the card, the wedding ceremony will be held at the Sheraton Subang Hotel & Towers. In that invitation card, there was also a note telling that my relative had already booked a room for me in that hotel so that I can come for their wedding ceremony. So I decided to come and stay at the hotel. For your information the wedding that I had attended was a full Malay wedding ceremony and I took place at the Selangor Ballroom, which is the hotel's main banquet room.

About The Hotel

As for me, the history of this hotel is quite unique because the hotels had changed their name so many times. Started from Subang View, Merlin Hotel, Sheraton ITT, Starwood Sheraton and lastly Sheraton Subang. This is because there are so many people and company that interested on buying this property.
The main owner of Sheraton Subang is the Starwood Hotel and Resorts Worldwide Inc that own more than 60% of the hotel's share. And Starwood are responsible on all the management of the hotels and the rest of the shares belong to the Faber Group. And Faber group is responsible on the building and also the Food and beverages section.

Sheraton Subang Hotel & Towers is located at the Satellite City of Subang Jaya and it is only 15 kilometres from the Kuala Lumpur City Centre and maybe it will take around 20-30 to reach KL from here. It is also located behind the recreational park named Subang Ria Park and it is also near the main Federal Highway, Commuter Train Station and also Carrefour Shopping Centre and also the Subang Parade Shopping Mall.
Other than that, there is a big medical centre located just beside the hotel. As for me, I just use the taxi from Kuala Lumpur to the hotel and it just cost around £5.00.

The Star rating of this hotel is 3 star hotel. (But i really think that this hotel is 5 star hotel) The Malaysian Ministry of Tourism are the organization that responsible on giving the star rating to all the hotels in Malaysia. And the criteria of the star rating depend on what the hotel provided such as the size of the room, the quantity of room, extra facilities, price rates and others.

Sheraton Subang Have 502 rooms that consist of

o 134 Superior Rooms
o 300 Deluxe Rooms
o 44 Tower Rooms
o 10 Junior Suites
o 12 Executive Suites
o 1 Premier Suite
o 1 Royal Suite

I was staying in the Deluxe rooms and the price rates for the room per night is RM380.00 that is equal to £60.00 per night plus free breakfast and free gymnasium voucher for one day.
The superior room is around £90.00 per night plus breakfast. I don't know the rest of the room rates but as what the housekeeping staff had told me, the Royal Suite is cost around £420.00 per night without breakfast.

<> Lobby Shop <>

The Lobby Shop at the hotel is well known as Seri Angkasa Lobby Shop among the workers in that Sheraton Subang. This lobby shop has lots of basic amenities for all the guest such as deodorant, shavers and others. Other than that, there are lost of Malaysian souvenirs available in that shop and the price is quite okay. And the staffs that are working in that shop are relatively friendly.

<> Clark Hatch Fitness Centre <>

Clark Hatch Fitness Centre has the latest fitness equipment and it is located at the ground floor of the hotel. When the time I checked in to the hotel, I had been offered 1 day voucher to use the gym facilities for free. Other than gymnasium, there are also sauna and Jacuzzi room offered to all the hotel user and non hotel user's customers. I am not a gym freak, but as what I see inside the gym, all the equipment are all brand new and well maintained. Plus, the trainers are very helpful. And lots of privacy too!

<> Limousine Service <>

Limousine Service is 24 hours service and the service is mostly used by the guest as their major transportation to Kuala Lumpur, surrounding Cities and also to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The price is affordable and they usually charge into your hotel bills.

<> Swimming Pool <>

The hotel have a large swimming pool with bar outside the hotel. The surrounding of the poolside is very relaxing and very comfortable, with all the tropical trees such as palm tree and acacia tree.

<> Outside Jacuzzi <>

Beside the large swimming pool, there is one Jacuzzi located at the left side of the pool. I never use this Jacuzzi but it looks very nice!

<> Business Centre <>

For the guest that staying at the hotel for business purposes, there are business centre available for them. Its offers secretary service, courier service, private offices, boardrooms, discussion rooms, internet rooms and also the stationary room that you can use to faxing, or doing photocopies for your documents.
About the internet room, the price to use the internet for one hour is quite expensive. The price is around £6.00 per hour and I would suggest you to go to any cyber cafes outside the hotel that cost around 20p per hour.

<> Banquet Halls <>

The hotel have 1 grand ballroom, 2 ballrooms, 10 conference and meeting rooms, and 2 pre function area that suitable for all kind of small banquet, meeting and others. The largest ballroom is called the Seri Selangor Ballroom that can accommodate more than 1000 guest at one time. My relative wedding ceremony was held in this ballroom.
The service was superb and very friendly. During the wedding, their main menu is more on traditional Malaysian dishes and it taste really good and hot too! The wedding was very enjoying and all the show that had been included with their wedding package is very good and professional.

<> Piano Coffee House <>

I've been to the coffee house just once during my check in to the hotel and the waiter is very friendly and I had a chance to have a chat with the waiter and she told me that most of the waiter here are part time student from the nearby colleges and universities.
The food there are very nice, especially the cakes. Malaysia is a Muslim country, so do expect the price of the beer that is quite expensive. Wines would be more expensive. At night, there will be a jazz performance at the coffeehouse. Enjoy? Yes…!

<> Terazza Brassieres <>

Terazza Brassieres is the hotel main restaurant and it provides all type of food around the globes. The main theme of this restaurant is the Mediterranean Enviroment and you will see so many Mediterranean things around you. Starts from lighting, cutleries and others.
The staffs are very friendly and the will assist me only when I need them (if u know what I mean). They know how to respect your privacy when dining and never keep coming to you although you don't need them at that time. So you will feel very comfortable while having your meal.

About the menu, there are Ala Carte and also Buffet Menu. And every month, the restaurant will have their monthly special menu. The price was quite expensive but worth it!

<> Miyako Japanese Restaurant <>

After the wedding ceremony is over, my friend that attending the same wedding asked me whether I want to go to have some sushi at the Miyako Restaurant. I'm not the fan of Sushi to be honest. But when I reach at the restaurant, I feel like I'm in Japan. The design of the restaurant is 99.9% Japanese design.
The restaurant had been awarded as the best Japanese restaurant in Malaysia in 1999 and 2001. I agree with the judges who select this restaurant as the best in Malaysia.
The food was excellent and fresh. I had a chance to change my menu from sushi to Teppanyaki (cooked Japanese Food) fuhh! The chefs are Japanese and they cook the food in front of me and it was really enjoying.
And at the end of the meal, I had been asked by the staffs to try their Koca Ice cream. Koca Ice cream is made from green tea and it taste like green tea (off course!) Delicious and I love it so much. The price is affordable. Love It!

<> Emperor Chinese Restaurant <>

I never been to this restaurant, but as what I know, this restaurant provide all kind of Chinese delicacies such as dumpling and roasted duck.

What Do I Feel About This Hotel

All parts of this hotel are very clean, quite modern but not too futuristic, lots of trees inside the hotel and the room was superb. The housekeeping staffs are doing their job very well. The bed was nicely done, the bathroom and toilet is spotless, the mini bar is full with food, and I am sure that you will not see any dust on the room. They did their job very well!

<> Service<>

Their Service is 5 star service. All their services are professional, very friendly, helpful and very comfortable to deal with. Their English is great and you will not have any problem when speaking with them. I was very satisfied with the service given started from check in to check out. Superb!

Disadvantage

I think, Sheraton Subang Hotel and Towers are more focusing on Business travellers rather than Tourist travellers. This is because the location of the hotel that is located in the middle of the Subang Jaya City that is well known as one of the business centre in Klang Valley. And there are not too many tourist attractions at the area.

As the conclusion, I had a great time staying in this hotel because of the great service and facilities. The staffs are professional when working and really know what their customer wants. I would recommend this hotel to all of you that want to visit KL.
