Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, Honolulu

Advantages: great weather, great swimming, great place
Disadvantages: none to speak of

...on the carousel. We decided to take a cab to our hotel rather than the cheaper option of the shuttle. It was going on midnight and we just wanted to get to the hotel. It cost about $25 for the cab and the cabbie did the usual trick of taking the tourists to the wrong hotel. “Sorry, I thought you said The Park Hotel, not the Waikiki Parc Hotel “, yeah right! Hubby still gave the man a tip though which didn’t go down well with me at all. We checked in, got to our room and crashed. The hotel (Waikiki Parc) was excellent and I highly recommend it to one and all. ~ FIRST IMPRESSIONS ~ When most people think of Hawaii, images of Waikiki Beach generally pop into mind. ...The Marriott Waikiki Beach is in a prime location directly adjacent to Wakkiki Beach. Beautiful views and central to the Wakkiki life of Honolulu. If you want a true Hawaii experience then Wakkiki is not for you. Wakkiki is an excellent spot for surfing and lounging on the beach although avoid the sun aroun mid-day and if tehre are no locals surfing dont surf!!! The Marriot itself has spaceous rooms and many have views of the hillside of the sea. There are two places to eat in the Marriot, the restuarant which has a rather limitted menu and is quite expencive and the terrace cafe on the thrid floor. The cafe is next to one of the swimming pools so the fabric seats are often wet and the menu is also limited and again expensive. Disadvantages: Caro el buffet

...Es un hotel con una amabilidad infinita. Desde la recepcion hasta los botones. Excepcional situacion y vistas desde las terrazas (a un lado el mar, al otro las montañas de selva tropical). Practicamente en primera linea de playa, en el paseo maritimo, en la zona mas "chic". Quiza lo mas dificil es encontrar un sitio para desayunar (el buffet no lo probamos porque es bastante caro, al igual que la comida y la cena), pero para ir de compras esta muy bien: cerca el mercado de honolulu, con de todo lo que quieras comprar. Cerca tambien del zoo, de la mejor zona de playa de waikiki y de buenos restaurantes (recomiendo el cheesecake factory para cenar). Me agrado especialmente lo que ellos llaman la hospitality room: una habitacion que te dejan una hora si has facturado a las 12 de la mañana pero no sale tu avion hasta por la tarde.... Read review
