'Constant' describes Shimla Pinks, better than any other word that springs to mind. I have visited on 6 occasions, on varying days of the week, at different times, and in different circumstances, and am constantly amazed by the uniform nature of the food, and service. Don't misinterpret my incredulity as indifference - the food is good, and service pleasant. However, the total lack of variety in the menu, which has been the same for 5 years, and the quiet indifference of the staff summates to provide an unexciting eating experience.
The bright and vivid decor is at odds with many other asian restauramnts and makes a pleasing change.
The standard of hygiene is high, extending to the toilets, and the bar extensive.
However, this is a restaurant unlikely to appeal to the regular restaurant-goer, due to its lack of effort to evolve.

Advantages: Freshly prepared food, superb buffet, basmati rice recommended! Disadvantages: All courses Not really authentic –but not bad try!some variation in quality between chains (Birmingham's food not as good as Leicester branch)
