The Bus ride to the hotel is quite a horrific one as Sicily is full of steep cliffs and mountains. Ths bus swings round corners over the cliffs rather dangerously but once you get there your alright. The Bus stops in the bus station which is conveniently at the bottom of the hotel. The steps to the hotel are rather steep so i would say this hotel is not for the less mobile. When we got into the room, we realised it was very spacious, with a high ceiling. Advantages: views
Disadvantages: poor rooms and awful restaurant

We returned to this hotel after staying here a couple of years ago. Unfortunately the standards have dropped dramatically. The rooms are adequate but some balconies are only the french type, and are not large enough for a chair. The staff are polite but distant, and the restaurant manager is constantly aggresive and extremely rude. Food quality is very poor, the salad bar consisted of a couple of lettuce and some tomatoes put onto the bar for customers ... Read review

This certainly was useful as the ever increasing popularity in the area and Sicily itself, can cause struggles in terms of traffic and congestion if you have rented a car. ...budget, advance internet booking on Best Western's website gives good value for money for the Hotel Mediterraneo. However, I don’t think this hotel would suit everyone. It certainly wouldn't impress the girlfriend and I wouldn’t want my mother walking round there on her own at night.
