Good little bed and breakfast
Review of Hotel Palladio, Giardini Naxos by
mcduff16
Advantages: Good location, nice breakfast
Disadvantages: Small hotel- though this is necessary a bad thing
...week at the 3 star Hotel Palladio. Located just in front of the beach in a great central location with many shops, supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Hotel Palladio itself is very small- 15 rooms. There is no bar or swimming pool, however the hotel has a hall with a small library and a veranda facing the sea where the buffet breakfast is served. Other facilites include free internet service, a solarium, luggage store and laundry service.
Being ... ...the bathroom. There was plenty of drawers and a big cupboard for storage of clothes- something i found very useful.
Price of rooms range from about £30-£80 a night. Overall I would definetly recommend Hotel Palladio for anyone looking for a reasonably priced 3 star hotel in Giardini Naxos. ...

Don't stay at Liberty, very dangerous area
Review of Liberty Hotel, Catania by
trickypines
Advantages: near city centre
Disadvantages: very dangerous area
...city in Sicily and the Liberty Hotel is in a bad area of the city. I tried to stay there but was carjacked right outside the Liberty Hotel!!! A man blocked the road while his team of thieves opened my car doors and stole our bags. Because of this incident, I drove off and didn't stay at the hotel that night. My girlfriend was terrified. When I told the hotel about this incident, they would not refund my money for that night. The manager said it was ... ...do not stay at the Liberty Hotel. I don't like supporting people that profit on other's misfortunes. Also, be very careful in that area. We spoke to someone who grew up in that area and recommended not traversing in that area if you are a tourist. Stay away from the Liberty Hotel!!! I consider them to be thieves just like the men who robbed me for their actions. ...

Villa Esperia - dont go
Review of Villa Esperia, Taormina by
Mardymadam
Advantages: views
Disadvantages: poor rooms and awful restaurant
We returned to this hotel after staying here a couple of years ago. Unfortunately the standards have dropped dramatically. The rooms are adequate but some balconies are only the french type, and are not large enough for a chair. The staff are polite but distant, and the restaurant manager is constantly aggresive and extremely rude. Food quality is very poor, the salad bar consisted of a couple of lettuce and some tomatoes put onto the bar for customers ...

Sublime, chilled, Sicily!
Review of Riviera, Taormina by
creamofthecrop6
Advantages: Staff, rooms, convenience.
Disadvantages: Heat can sometimes cause uncomfort.
After visiting Italy before (Lake Garda) I was charmed and desperate to return again. This time however the trip was designed slightly less for sight seeing, but rather a tranquil Mediterranean treat.
If your budget isn't the largest but still craves luxury, then Hotel Riviera certainly obliges. With distant views of the picturesque coastline, enjoy a day by the pool or without committing yourself, bask in the sights and chilled atmosphere of Sicily's ... ...arrival was the private car park available for all of the Hotel guests. This certainly was useful as the ever increasing popularity in the area and Sicily itself, can cause struggles in terms of traffic and congestion if you have rented a car. A clean spacious room fits the bill, complete with a generous sized bathroom and the added incentive, the balcony. The staff was extremely helpful and was happy to sort any inconvenience or queries that we ...

Great Location - Shame about the Hotel (Basil!)
Review of Bristol Park Hotel, Taormina by
klofron
Advantages: Stunning views, well located.
Disadvantages: Poorly run, shabby and poorly maintained
...one thing - The Hotel Bristol Park! We paid around £800 each for a weeks B & B at this establishment, provided through Thompsons. This Hotel passes itself off as a Four Star Hotel.
*** LOCATION ***
One of the greatest assets of this Hotel is its fabulous location. If you want a well located Hotel in Taormina, with great views of Mount Etna (the main reason we booked this Hotel), there won't be many better in Taormina. We had a room on the third ... ...at the front of the Bristol Park will have similar great views but those at the rear will be looking at cliffs and other buildings.
There is a steep ramp leading up to the Hotel entrance door and quite a few steps to negotiate before reaching the Hotel which would make it unsuitable for less mobile people.
Ten minutes walk from the Hotel, and you are in the centre of the beautiful town of Taormina with its many bars shops and restaurants - this ...
