The Cain ValleyHotel is a 2 star hotel situated in the town centre of Llanfyllin, it is a 15 minutes drive away from the picturesque Lake Vyrnwy, renowned for its bird attraction. Also within a 15 minute drivinge distance is Pistyll Rhayader, one of the seven wonders of Wales, it is the highest Waterfall in Great Britain. Llanfyllin really is a great place to base yourself if you want to explore Wales, and Powys and Chirk Caste are both nearby. Y Dolydd musical festival is also an attraction and it takes place at the end of June and accomodation may be avaiable for that weekend. The hotel has its own Car Park so this is not a problem and the hotel is relatively easy to find.

Looking for something a bit different for a Sunday afternoon stroll, then this place could tick all the boxes. Moors Valley covers 750 acres in the Valley of the Moors River.
Not easily sign posted until you are right on top of the entrance, a Sat Nav device could prove invaluable to get you here. However, if you type in the above postcode on the RAC route planner website (www.rac.co.uk), it will find the place for you and can print off directions for a return route home. There are no admission charges. Opening times are from 8 am to dusk all year round except Christmas Day and a few days in January for cleaning the site.

entering the hotel we were greeted by Duncan, the hotel chef and co manager, who I am very pleased to say is of Scottish origins. What a delight to go to a Scottish hotel and be greeted by an actual Scotsman, I would expect to go to other countries and be greeted by locals at any accommodation I choose to stay at. After several minutes of conversation with Duncan we were shown to our room and told to make ourselves comfortable.
