...Nuwara Eliya is full of the beautful scenery, falling waterfalls and more that you could expect from one of Sri Lanka's extreme areas. It's long winding roads lead all the way up the mountatins through valleys of Tea Estates. There are many hotels in Nuwara Eliya, near the center of town. One of the most famous and luxurious is the Grand Hotel. It is an old colonial house which has been transfered into a massive hotel with a brand new wing just added on with a gym, sauna, shops and more. Nuwara Eliya also boasts some other great hotels which are of equal stature to that of the Grand Hotel. It does get a bit chilly up in the hills of Sri Lanka, so take some warm clothes....

Advantages: not that busy, beautiful scenery Disadvantages: very very very hot, take plenty of water
...One of the hottest places on Earth; Death Valley. Appropriately, the Indian word for Death Valley is "Tomesha" which simply means "ground afire" - which is indeed true! In 1849, a group of immigrants looking for a shortcut to California's Gold Country led ox-drawn wagons over the ridges of the great basin and down into the valley's salt beads. After weeks of searching for a way out (losing one of their party in the process) the group eventually stumbled (literally) across a western exit. Looking back at the stark landscape, one of the travelers exclaimed, "Goodbye Death Valley"; thus naming the area for posterity. BE WARNED: TAKE PLENTY OF WATER (for you and your car!)
Look out fot the Ghost Towns eg. Darwin, when passing through Death Valley!...

...Manikata - A small country village in Malta
Manikata is a small typical Maltese village. The main industry of Manikata is farming. Manikata is located on a farming valley which is rich in produce. Much of the produce is harvested and sold off at framing markets.
On the outskirts of Manikata there were two military camps in the 1960's. One was home to Royal Malta Artillery and the other was a British Army camp which hosted many different regiments including the Royal Marines .
These army camps are no longer active. One of them has been turned into a holiday style village "Hal-Ferh"
Just about a 10 minute walk is Golden Bay, one of Malta's best known beaches. AT present there is a new Hotel complex being built replacing the GOLDEN SANDS hotel which was built in the 1970's. This hotel has now been demolished and a brand new Hotel has...
