About 15 miles west of El Alamein lies Sidi Abdel Rahman, with beautiful sugar white beaches and the Mediterranean, in the palm of your hands. This is one of those virgin beach areas you read about but rarely see. Bedouins inhabit a small village a little over a mile away. There is a beach resort located here.
These days peace, tranquillity and beauty often come at a price, so it's not surprising that one of the major critcism about the stunning northwestern coast resort of Sidi Abdel-Rahman is that it's too expensive. Pristine beaches and gleaming white sand don't come cheap -- but they used to.
The weather is unparalled, the beaches are safe for trhe kids, and you can stay in the hotel called Al-Alamein Hotel, which is located near the Beach. Consequently, this sleepy town lacks all the trappings of the inevitable over development that trails in happy tourists' wakes. I would recommend to any one with a deep pocket.
