Advantages: clean, comfortable, good value, well located hotel Disadvantages: breakfast could be improved, no bath in some if not all rooms
We recently stayed at the athenaeum during our visit to Florence in March 2007.
having booked a flight and hotel deal through expedia for £140pp for 2 nights, we were surprised at the bargain price for a 4 star rated hotel. on expedia.co.uk, it says that the hotel is well located, within walking distance of all the major attractions of florence.
On first entering the hotel, the first thing you notice is the lovely sheek modern interior, then you're greeted by the very friendly staff. First impressions were good. They were knowledgable about the local attractions and also well equipped with information about location transport links

Advantages: Clean, comfy, good breakfast Disadvantages: May not be worth paying full price for

OVERVIEW:
The Hotel Alamanni is a three-star hotel located very near to Florence's main train station and about a 15 minute walk from the major tourist attractions. The hotel has 17 guest rooms and 2 suites. There are no business or sporting facilities, but breakfast is provided in the lounge area.
LOCATION:
The hotel is located on the Via Alamanni, a road that runs along the side of the main train station- Santa Maria Novella. The road itself is easy enough to find, but ...
Advantages: Cheap, reasonable rooms and breakfast Disadvantages: Looks bad from outside, slight smell!
around Florence.
The breakfast was adequate, cereal, juice, coffee bread and toast.
The hotel was in a good location, concidering that it was fairly cheap. We walked everywhere, the Duomo and the railway station being within 5 minutes walk.
I can't remember the exact cost of the room but it was between 40 and 50 euros a night.
I would definately stay here again. ...
