Advantages: Low Price Disadvantages: Bit rough round the edges
Recently completed a journey. As was described in the previous review the check in at Luton is really the best feature of this airline. It was effortless and the lounge was impressive with fully stocked bar and very attentive and friendly staff. On board the seats are comfortable. However the refit of the plane seems to have only included the seats. The toilets were as old as the plane and I am sure at least the toilet seats could have been changed. ... ...up to standards of BA, Virgin or EOS. I have a dietry requirement and I have to say that the meal that was provided was one of the best I have had on any airline. My companion had pre-ordered one of the curries from the specials menu and said it was average quality but enjoyable. We were late into Newark but disembarked quickly and painlessly - although luggage delivery wasn't that quick. I had booked a car service through the airline and the driver ...

Advantages: Least expensive business class seat - especially on short notice. Disadvantages: Horrible lounge in Newark, so-so service
...my coat was collected.
Silverjet also has a strange policy of asking how you prefer to be addressed by the flight attendants (first name, full name, etc.). Was a bit odd, especially since no one ever used by name - preferred or otherwise - during the remainder of the flight.
Food was fine - better than average - although it took a while for it to be served and it was damn near impossible to see, since Silverjet keeps all overhead lights off during ... ...were certainly reasonable. However, managing to watch a film and eat at the same time should best be left to contortionists.
All in all, certainly worth the money and better than 7 hours in steerage. I'll fly Silverjet again, but only when EOS saver fares are unavailable. ...

Advantages: Excellent price, Customer Service, Great check-in, superb wining and dining Disadvantages: None
I have flown Silverjet twice now and What can I say except that it is a wonderful experience, the best airline I have ever flown with by far. Usually the holiday starts when you get to your destination and ends when you leave for the airport. However I can actually say that it was the first time that I enjoyed flying which also became part of the holiday itself! So what was great? Well the customer service was beyond our expectations. I never thought ... ...lounge (which includes free food, wine, champagne, wifi internet and access to showers) both sides of the Atlantic, the brilliant restaurant food onboard the aircraft (served on proper porcelain dinner plates and with silverware cutlery), the personal entertainment stystem, the spacious and calm interior with lie flat beds on the plane - simply brilliant! The cherry on the cake - I saved money, and lots of it too! Where's the catch? I've yet to find ...

Advantages: Low fare business class London to New York Disadvantages: Doesn't fly from Heathrow
Silverjet flies from its own terminal at Luton to Newark. You can arrive 30 minutes before departure. The big surprise for me was there are no check-in desks. You just turn up at the private lounge. I came by train from St Pancras and took the free shuttle taxi from Luton Parkway run by the airline. Someone took my bags when we pulled up outside and I was directed straight into the lounge. Everything's brand-new, very sleek and there were plenty ... ...champagne and then someone came up and took my passport. That was it. They came back a little later with my boarding card. Security clearance was fast because we were the only flight going through - this is the big advantage of having your own terminal. Few baggage restrictions: I took an overnight bag, a briefcase and a laptop on board. Or you can check in two cases up to 30kg each. Aboard you get flat beds and you can eat when you want, not when ...
