Advantages: Great Atmosphere, Fast Cars, Not Just F1 Disadvantages: Very loud, Expensive, Hotel accomodation hard to find
...Bernie Ecclestone announced that the Silverstone, British Grand Prix would be removed from the FIA 2005 race calendar for Formula one. The supposed reasons for this removal were that Silverstone were unable to pay enough for the rights to host the race and that the facilities were very out of date compared to the new tracks of Bahrain and Beijing. This is a great loss to the economy of area around Silverstone as the Grand Prix generates £40,000,000 ... ...racing in Britain since the 1950s. In July 2004 I attended the Grand Prix and this is my account of the weekend.
Since around March time during my final GCSE year my school were organising a school trip for some reason to the British Grand Prix for sixth formers of which I was not one, but numbers were down and I was asked whether I would attend because I was an avid racing fan and wouldn't give up this opportunity of attending one of the sporting ...

Advantages: local circuit, centrally located in UK, great races, free car parking Disadvantages: F1 tickets expensive
...the Touring car events at Silverstone, which promises high action and drama without the hefty price tag of a F1 ticket! Touring car tickets cost about £25 for the entire weekend, and as little as £10 for a day, so it is worth checking out. If you are really a big F1 fan then once in a lifetime it may be worth going to see a Friday or Saturday F1 practice -just for the sheer experience and to actually hear the phenomenal sound of a F1 car!! Some circuits ... ...his first ever win at Silverstone, Michael Schumacher was 2nd, Barrichello 3rd and Montoya finished in 4th place (he probably could have come 2nd or 3rd), but still an outstanding performance from Montoya starting from 8th position. It has been noted that Ferrari were on a somewhat "conservative strategy" for Silverstone this year. Whatever it was a finish is a finish and better to score some points than none at all by blowing a new engine/component ...

Advantages: You get in free, oohh and a free programme.. Disadvantages: Getting up at 5 on a Sunday
EEyy-up, here comes that lunatic again...Is this the talk of people walking past the nearest asylum ??? No, it's spectators at a motor race meeting talking about the guys on the other side of the fence - those unpaid volunteers - the marshals. Well, during my “career” as a marshal, I was at most circuits at one time or another but as I actually started at Silverstone when I was knee high to a grasshopper I’ve decided to put this ... ...first decided to take my life in my hands and become a marshal when I owned an MG Midget, about 27 years ago. My intention then was to get into racing, but that never happened !! The first way to marshal is to join a club, such as The British Racing and Sports Car Club (BRSCC) or The British Automobile Club (BARC), both of which have marshalling sections. You have then learnt the first aspect of the activity, it costs money . The next thing the aspiring ...

Advantages: Beautiful, thrilling spectacle. Disadvantages: ITV. Adverts every three minutes AND Murray Walker.
The British Grand-Prix dawns, and the steely-eyed warriors stride forth to engage in battle once more.
There are two schools of thought concerning Formula 1 racing; on the one hand are those who have no intention of watching twenty-two idiots drive around in a circle for two hours, on the other are the people who believe they are watching a unique and challenging sporting contest, where death occasionally attends as more than a spectator. I belong ... ...the last remaining sports where the competitors actually put their life on the line.
Think about it, what’s the fastest that you’ve ever driven? One hundred and ten, one hundred and twenty, maybe a little more; and I would bet it was on a dry, clear road. How do you think it feels to race, at nigh on two hundred miles per hour, wheel-nut to wheel-nut with a rival? To corner at ninety with the nose of your car up someone’s exhaust ...

Advantages: Entertaining race Disadvantages: The title appears to be going away from DC.
...breathed air at. And at Silverstone, a flat circuit in the middle of a flat area – there’s an awfully large amount of air moving around to be breathed. The start finish straight at Silverstone is actually one of the moor dull places to watch from. Standing by Copse is an experience though, I was only there for a Super Touring race but the commitment and speed was breath taking, just don’t take a breath when a car goes off or you ... ...car down the motorway to Silverstone, you’ll want a medium downforce to reach a compromise between the fast corners and the fast straight. Tires could be a problem though, due to the oh so British weather.
* The Results – DC fans weep * Sad but probably true, but Coulthard’s title chances went into the gravel early on in this race. I’ll still be there cheering him on, hoping at each race. But it will be a tough slog.

Silverstone are one of the big names in Computer Case design with styling coming from both the likes of Coolermaster and Lian Li. This case has one big feature that made me love it, its the fact that the whole of the front is made of aluminium. There is... more
I don't know too much about in-car satellite navigation systems (satnavs, as they call them) and it's not that I have used a number of devices so that I can compare the pros and cons of one against the other. But, I am a very satisfied user of TomTom One more
