I regularly arrange a large group outing once a year, and we have for the past 2 years chosen Sinah Warren.

Advantages: Great for older groups, DBB included, can accommodate a large group Disadvantages: Can feel like god's waiting room. Entertainment is a little flat at times.

We've been to 2 weekends... the sounds of the 60's weekend back in 2006 (very good) and the London Pride weekend in 2007. To put it bluntly, as a Londoner I had no pride left after the entertainment they'd laid on! It was, to say the ... ...walked out of the Saturday night entertainment in the purpose built Pavilion, which is something I would not usually do out of respect for the entertainers.
The entertainment staff did the show on Sunday and this was rather good, although alittle to "safe" for most people. It was a selection of show tunes and I think they could have found a lot better than a few cats songs and a meddly from Miss Saigon. That wasn't all, but ... more
This is a really rather nice 3 star hotel (they say it's higher than that, but I'd give the basic accommodation 3 stars anyway).

To put it bluntly, as a Londoner I had no pride left after the entertainment they'd laid on! It was, to say the least, dire..... and that's being nice about it. We actually walked out of the Saturday night entertainment in the purpose built Pavilion, which is something I would not usually do out of respect for the entertainers.
The entertainment staff did the show on Sunday and this was rather good, although alittle to "safe" for most people. It was a selection of show tunes and I think they could have found a lot better than a few cats songs and a meddly from Miss Saigon. That wasn't all, but there are far snappier tunes out there that could have really got everyones feet tapping.
The food is excellent and the staff do their best with what they are given, but cutbacks have been made and it's really noticable.
The bar was closed early on Friday night with several large groups still present, even after being told in the welcome meeting that the bar was open until residents had finished, a "last man standing" policy.
All in all a fairly good weekend, but loads of short comings.
Accommodation comes in various ways, shapes and forms and I usually opt for the basic room. This is comfortable and always welcoming. Tea and coffee are topped up everyday and you have a selection of items available in the bathroom.
Food is excellent, but the bar prices are rather steep.
Children are not allowed so this makes for an excellent weekend away for those without kds or with an older group in mind (our group ranged from 20 - 60 years).
Good value all in all, but don't expect to turn cartwheels! I hope this is of some help.
UPDATE**** HAVE SINCE RETURNED.... NO IMPROVEMENT, INFACT, I'D HATE TO SAY IT'S GOT A LITTLE WORSE.
Advantages: relaxing, peaceful, lovely views, great food Disadvantages: entertainment varies from good to bad
After being put off this hotel by other reviews we decided to try it ourselves !
We had a fantastic long weekend, the weather was great which always helps but the hotel is far better than we had been led to believe!
We booked last minute so got good deals on the more expensive rooms, which I would thoroughly recomend, the new Signature rooms are beautiful, done out in attractive sea green colours with a mini bar and plasma tv, and great views across ... ...with four poster bed, mini bar, trouser press, huge bathroom with separate whirlpool bath and shower cubicle (complimentary toiletries in both rooms and tea and coffee making equip) you also get bath robes and slippers, fresh fruit and chocolates, which is fantastic.
Royale rooms also have a telescope, presumably for looking at the wonderful view, but for some reason it caused us great hilarity !
The food was excellent and the table staff very helpful, some ...
