Ok, SharmElSheikh isnt Cairo, in fact it's no where near Cairo (you wouldn't believe how big Egypt is). But I wasnt disappointed and just couldn't wait to arrive in the country.
SharmElSheikh is a newly developed tourist resort, in the Sinai peninsula and on the coast of the Red Sea (once believed to have been parted by Moses to free the jews). SharmElSheikh is surrounded by mystery and religion. The infamous Mount Sinai is the place where God spoke to Moses and delivered the 10 commandments.
The area is amazing and I felt priveleged to be there, to be in a place home to such famous bible stories.

I couldn't be bothered being fussy so yes I had ice cubes in my drinks and the salads were so nice I just ate them every day. I was not ill once. I think the standard of food in the hotels can vary quite a lot though, and each hotel has different rules on what's included in the 'all inclusive', ie in the LTI Grand Azur you are free to eat once in each of the a la carte restaurants, whereas in some other hotels you have to pay.
Hot tips:
If all inclusive is not your thing, stay in a hotel close to Naama Bay as here you will find a huge choice of restaurants, both local and international, ie Hard Rock Cafe, TGI Friday's.
